Divided AARP Social Security Messaging

Columnist Andy Markowitz is naive about Trump White House intentions.

The opposite of AARP Calls to Action RE threats yo Social Security.

AARP needs to be consistent, relentless and action oriented. That is not happening now.  Focus needs to have started yesterday! 

 

The time is now. Tomorrow is too late.

 

If AARP does not act up now and lead, everything else you have worked to feature and promote will not matter.

    WHO are you and where have you been ?  You have made (1) post here - this one.  And we have been talking about the financial problems that has plagued the Social Security Trust Funds since 2010.

     

    I think Andy Markowitz is just speaking the truth - not one benefit has been touched and will not be - will there be changes to the program in years down the road to preserve it - hope so, or we will all have a 20% cut (by law) in about 2033 when the balance of the Trust Fund reaches insolvency levels - that means WHEN we cannot pay current benefits out of the money being collected from workers at that time.

    We are NOT building any reserve now and haven’t since 2021 - in fact we are taking the applicable reserve amount to pay benefits when collections from workers, interested on the special treasuries and the taxes paid on benefits doesn’t need th benefits need.
