On 11/19/2024 I ordered a new Induction Oven from the Frigidaire website. They gave me a delivery date of 11/28/2024. Maybe they deliver on Thanksgiving? Well, it's now 12/5/2024 and they have given me a new delivery date of 12/24/2024. I told them if you were just honest up front and stated that you did not have any in stock I would have understood. But, no. 4 phone calls later and they are still pretending that the oven is eventually going to exist. I asked for compensation for the delay and they offered me $40.

What a slap in the face. I had also ordered the air fry rack that goes with that oven; it was shipped right away. Please be warned!  These people are not straight shooters. I would not recommend them to anyone. Again, Please be warned! I am so upset. I am 68 years old turning 69 on Christmas; was buying this oven for my wife of 48 years; now all is lost.

Not to place the blame on the victim but your error was to order a Frigidaire product in the first place.

 

At one time, Frigidaire was a premium product but now, Frigidaire products are usually the "builder's grade" type products that cheap home builders put in cheaper homes.

I bought a Frigidaire side by side freezer-fridge from Lowe's back in July 2014 and I have only had one problem with it. About three months after I bought it, I had a problem with the ice maker. It was still under warranty, so a repairman was sent out to repair it. I haven't had any more problems with it. 

 

My other appliances are GE, but I bought them local too. Washer and Dryer were bought from the late Sears store we had. Dishwasher from Lowes. Stove and over the stove Microwave from Home Depot.

 

My suggestion is, buy local if possible.

I would NEVER buy appliances from one of the big box stores (HOME DEPOT or LOWES).

 

I would agree; however, to buy local. Just not a big box store.

 

One gets much better deals from independent appliance stores. 

 

But where these big box stores are the worst is their delivery and installation service. They both use out-of-state vendors that are usually ill trained, not careful with your new appliance, and not punctual.

 

I bought a Kitchenaid dishwasher at Home Depot. I had 3 different delivery teams. The first said my water connection was wrong and wanted to leave the dishwasher in my garage. I didn't let them and there was NOTHING WRONG with my connection. The second team had to call their supvisor long distance several times to get instructions on how to install the dishwasher. They did it wrong and a third team was sent out and they installed it cockeyed. By the time I was through complaining to both HOME DEPOT and KITCHENAID, I had a final cost of about $500 for a dishwasher where my original invoice was $1,100. Refunds for installation, additional discounts for my troubles, and a check from KITCHENAID brought that $1,100 down to $500 but the frustration wasn't worth it.

 

I then replaced all the other appliances in my kitchen through an independent appliance store and everything went smoothly. They even matched lower prices that occurred after my purchase and gave me multiple refunds to match those lower prices.

Neighbors fridge went out and she decided to replace it.  It had an ice maker.  Went to Home Depot, she picked one out.  Paid extra for ice maker.  When they brought it to her house I could not be present for installation and asked another neighbor to look in on it.  When it was all said and done, it was ok except the ice maker was not included which she already paid extra for.  She got her money refunded.  A few months later the local utility offered her a free fridge but since she had already purchased it they said send us the receipt and we will reimburse you.  So the original receipt had the ice maker price on it and she was refunded by the local utility.  Another time I ordered a fridge from Montgomery Wards.  When I went to look at it they extolled all the virtues of the model except they left out the part that was if you want the door to open on the other side just ell us and we will do that, no charge.  So come delivery date I mentioned how nice it would be to have the door swing the other way.  The guy said for $25 I can do that.  I said for $25 I will go back to MW and let them know it should have been disclosed to me, I will have it done and a second trip will be required with no additional fees to anyone.  And that is what happened.
