Any "thoughts" on this article/topic?

 

The ONLY item that seems to be increasing are my car repairs. The OTHER Old Lady (2006 Hyundai Elantra) heat decided to go out. We had a "few" mornings (early) with frost. Was NO fun trying to SEE through my windshield. I take her in on the 15th. Can't complain as heat has NEVER gone out.

 

And food like ALL of us. Yikes!!!  😱 Seems like every week Walmart raises their prices on what is on my Grocery List.

 

GRATEFUL my Allstate Car Insurance went down!!!

 

I already know my rent will INCREASE in April like it does EVERY YEAR when my "lease" expires.

I cannot actually think of anything except regular maintenance on my home like a new roof and that has really gone up for labor and materials in the 30 years since the 1st one,  Then I had to replace my chimney cap.  I replaced the gutters too but only the horizontal ones, downspouts seemed fine.  Then I replaced all (3) of my electric heat pumps.  

Now for the deck and painting the whole outside of the house. 

Already replaced the car (4) years ago.  

So soon,  I will be ready to go for another 30+ years - yea, like I will be here that long !

    Well, I think everyone has different needs and wants. My wife and I are both retired and have our adults children as well as my mother in law living with us. I am learning to adjust to this life without work and feel that I must cut down on my wants in life. I feel that less possessions are the secret. This in turn will help with the constant rise of our insurance, gas , and food.

      WOW, Frank, that’s a lot of people living under one roof - I think that might make me go back to work just to get some alone time.  🤓  I don’t know ya’ll do it - it is just me here and even that gets too crowded sometimes.

       

      I guess it could save some money if ya’ll spread out the task of food and getting it at the grocery store.  But they don’t measure home insurance or property taxes based on the number of people living under one roof.  

       

      Yes, living as a minimalist is the way to go all the way around - less stuff to take care of - and yes, insure. 

       

      I am sure that everybody in your household works to make it as pleasant as possible for everybody else - how else could it be done?
