Question

👴👵 Anyone Age 60+ Attending School or Would Like To?

[Tuesday 10/20/26]

You are NEVER too old to return to school & we get to do it for FREE at age 60+.

Stop by to tell us about YOUR school life. Maybe your story may INSPIRE another senior to return to school.

They say this keeps our mind YOUNG. 😉

Take care,

IF YOU LIVE IN VIRGINIA LIKE I DO. Here is what we get below. 👍
    Eligibility and Benefits in Virginia!

    • Age Requirement: You must be 60 years of age or older.
    • Residency Requirement: You must have lived in Virginia as a legal domicile for at least one year.
    • Audit Classes (Free for Everyone): You can audit up to three classes per term with tuition completely waived, regardless of your income level. Audited classes do not give grades or academic credit.
    • Credit Classes (Income-Limited): You can take classes for college credit with tuition waived if your individual taxable income from the preceding year was $23,850 or less.
    • Space-Available Basis: Senior citizens are enrolled on a space-available basis after all regular tuition-paying students are accommodated. Registration typically opens right before the class begins (often the last working day or a few days prior, depending on the school).
    • Costs Not Covered: You are still responsible for specific course materials, books, or specialized lab/supply fees.

I am 68 & thought about attending my local community college down my hill here in Virginia when I had "retired" at age 62 in 2020.

    Then COVID arrived.

Once we "kind" of recovered from "lockdown", I looked into it. Even met with someone at the school.

But as I SEARCHED what they had to "offer", ONLINE was the way to go. As I AGE, I "hate" being online. This AARP Community Board is the only "online" I do now.

I may look AGAIN next year. Lol, bored some weekdays & it would be good to attend classes ON CAMPUS. Maybe I can find something. 🤞

    Nicole!
