🤔 1923-1973 Do You Remember...

…..Yes! 

        We would flatten the roll out on the sidewalk or curb, and smash each “spot” with a rock - - just for a whiff of that acrid smell, a glimpse of a spark or a tendril of white smoke, but most of all, for that  “BANG!”

…..talk about a perfect summer day - doing this, playing kickball, spotting a praying mantis, or a snake sunning itself on a rock, or a pair of toads, hearing the sound of the Good Humor truck, then patting the quarter in your pocket in anticipation, racing bikes, ….all capped with a dusk filled with lightning bugs and hand-held sparklers !
