I have some pretty varied tastes, so bear with me

THE HALLELUJAH CHORUS FROM HANDEL'S MESSIAH SUNG BY THE MORMON TABERNACLE CHOIR. IT'S INSPIRATIONAL AND VERY BEAUTIFUL. OF ALL THE CHOIRS THAT HAVE SUNG IT, THEY ARE BY FAR MY FAVORITE AND I'M NOT A MORMON EVEN THOUGH I LIVE IN UTAH.

RHAPSODY IN BLUE BY FERRANTE AND TEICHER. MY OLDER BROTHER USED TO PLAY THIS ON OUR OLD TURNTABLE BACK IN THE 60'S AND I BEGAN TO REALLY ENJOY IT

LOVELETTERS IN THE SAND BY PAT BOONE. THIS WAS THE FIRST 45 RPM RECORD MY MOTHER GOT AND SHE PLAYED IT CONSTANTLY. OFTEN WHEN I THINK OF HER, I THINK OF THAT SONG AS WELL.

One of my favorite 60's songs is Laugh Laugh by the Beau Brummells.  Love the structure and the hooks.

@Anonymous

In my zeal to post about the 60s, I totally overlooked one of my all time favorites from then (of which there are many), and still to this day…Stevie Wonder! Starting with Fingertips Part 1 & Part 2…who would have ever thought that this 13 year old, blind, soulful person, playing the harmonica, would become truly one of the leading musical geniuses of the last 50 plus years.

My other favorite of his is “Always”, just a great song. Way to go Stevie!

Do you believe in magic, Lovin Spoonful, 1965

Make me smile, Chicago, 1970

Two songs that always make me feel good,

that I’ve loved as long as I’ve been breathing

This is difficult.  It depends on context.  Favorite song by artist?  Season?  Period in my life?  Hard to pick just one.

I hadn't thought about this band in a long time, and then I discovered them again on YT. I have enjoyed watching many of the performance videos. Always smiling, having a great time on stage, lots of energy, and in the 80's, such acrobatics like I've never seen before. I started downloading their albums, and ordered a few more cds and dvds. Their songs make me happy when I'm blue, or feeling a bit down, or listen while getting my exercise and walking. I especially love the power ballads. Their music helped me through this past year. Music is a great healer. They are now my favorite band, and I already have tickets to see them next April in Vegas!  😎  The lyrics to this one says it all . . .

The Best Is Yet To Come  -  Scorpions 💛

We cross another road
And face another day
Soldiers never die
They only fade away
How can we grow old
When the soundtrack of our lives is rock and roll!!!
And the best is yet to come
I know, you know
That we've only just begun
Through the highs and lows
And how can I live without you
You're such a part of me
And you've always been the one
Keeping me forever young
And the best is yet to come!

And . . .

There's No One Like You  🤘 🦂🦂🦂🦂🦂  💛

@Anonymous -  Sorry!  YT = YouTube. Don't feel bad. I didn't discover YT until I retired a few years ago! Had no idea how much content was there. I thought it was just for kids posting videos, sorta like Tik Tok.

The Last Resort by The Eagles is my number 1 favorite song of all time. The melody is beautiful, Don's voice is perfect, and the message is clear. If you haven't heard it before it is very memorable.

She came from Providence, the one in Rhode Island

Where the Old World shadows hang heavy in the air

She packed her hopes and dreams like a refugee

Just as her father came from across the sea

She heard about a place people were smiling

They spoke about the Red Man’s way how they loved the land.

They came from everywhere to the Great Divide

Seeking a place to stand or a place to hide

Down in the crowded bars, out for a good time

Can’t wait to tell you all what it’s like up there

They called it Paradise I don’t know why.

Somebody laid the mountains low while the town got high

Then the chilly winds blew down across the desert

Through the canyons of the coast to the Malibu

Where the pretty people play, hungry for power

To light their neon ways and give them things to do.

Some rich men came and raped the land but nobody caught ‘em

Put up a bunch of ugly boxes and Jesus people bought ‘em

They called it Paradise, the place to be

They watched the hazy sun sinking in the sea.

We can leave it all behind and sail to Lahaina

Just like the missionaries did so many years ago

They even that brought a neon sign that said “Jesus is coming”

They brought the white man’s burden down, brought the white man’s reign.

Who will provide the grand design of what is yours and what is mine?

‘Cause there is no more new frontier, we have got to make it here.

We satisfy our endless needs and justify our bloody deeds

In the name of destiny and in the name of God

And you can see them there on Sunday morning

They stand up and sing about what it’s like up there

They called it Paradise, I don’t know why

When you call something Paradise, kiss it goodbye.

Today I’m going with my favs from another

fav group of mine Led Zeppelin. These songs take me back to the 70’s, which were the

happiest years of my life 🎼💜

Stairway to heaven (Possibly the best rock

song ever recorded)

All my love

Black Dog

Dancing Days

D’yer Mak’er

Going to California

Dazed and confused

Houses of the Holy

Immigrant song

In my time of dying

Kashmir

Misty mountain hop

Over the hills and far away

The rain song

Rock and roll

The song remains the same

Trampled under foot

When the levee breaks
