I wish this video was better but there is nothing wrong with her voice. I remember the first time I heard it from the CD.  I just had to stop and listen.  She was just amazing.

Let me recommend the internet audio service Pandora.  You can set up "stations" to play the kind of music you like - I have Johnny Cash, Paul Simon, among others.  Pandora is free (with a few commercials) or commercial free for a monthly fee.

I've been on a real big funk kick lately - listening to a lot of Parliament Funkadelic. I love how they bridged 50s/60s funk with early rock n roll, yet somehow made it their own.

Any other bands anyone can suggest that fit in this area - some solid funk chops, but the spirit of rock n roll?

Hi and welcome

Thank you for the post.  I have heard of Pandora but do not have it.  Glad you are enjoying it and thank you for the recommendation.  I mostly listen to my ipod anymore but it is hard to keep up with new music that way.

You're right she was amazing.  The New York Rock and Soul Revue was one of our favorite concerts.  Don and I had great seats and it was such an enjoyable evening.  I'm so glad I got to see and hear her in person.  Very saddened by this loss.

Hi Glenda,

You've probably heard by now that Richie Sambora has entered rehab so he won't be with Bon Jovi when they come here.  I'm kind of bummed about that since Jon and Richie are truly great together.  They haven't named a replacement yet.  I'm sure I'll still have a good time since my friend Kelly and I always do.  Hoping that the replacement is someone I'd love to see and haven't yet.  Wishing Richie all the best but still sad that he won't be here.  Good thing my real love is Jon!  LOL
