WHAT ARE YOU LISTENING TO?

New Orleans Piano -

Huey Smith and the Clowns on youtube ("Don't you Just Know It,")

Alan Toussaint ("A Certain Girl,")

Jerry Lee Lewis ("You Win Again," & "Crazy Arms," http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5XWhjcCwLlg&feature=related - OLD VERSIONS ONLY, Please! This is why: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l6JPzGIVB7M&feature=related )

Singers? Cindy Lauper (again, 'old stuff' only - Blue Angel, her genderbending of Pitney's "I'm Gonna Be Strong" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=TsFqdlTxuSI&feature=related  in their demo, shows a performing artist who didn't even NEED to write!)

The Conway Twitty's ( http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swX9oq6TVAU&feature=related ) and Roy Orbinson's (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ivHb-ncm0yo&feature=related if you think you can sing, try it... ) ,

as well as Patsy Cline (esp. "Sweet Dreams," http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QZKiZG0u7oc ) are also treasures I HOPE the "Copyright Trolls" haven't ruined for all of us... the way they did the best performances of Roy Buchanan, etc.

and the Everlies just won't die as THE BEST! Anyone heard this McCartney song written for them? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M9tQm3X07ck&feature=related

I still listen to much over the air local radio, but there's a lot of quality and choice on the net too.  But after way too much wasted time at Pandora and other sites, i've settled on these:  www.hylitradio.com , capturing the excitement of the real WIBG Radio 99 run by Hy's son Sam.  Pop Gold Radio at http://tunein.com/tuner/?StationId=135060 run by long time personality Don Tandler 'the record handler', and a really unusual site called Nutsie, all Top 100 songs site, by year, by decade, by genre, by Holiday, by theme, all free, all comercial free at www.nutsie.com and all with NO TRACKING COOKIES or registration.
