Songs of Getting Older

A funny song about taking a lot of medications and what they do.

My Meds - Loudon Wainwright III

"One Less Day (Dying Young)" - Rob Thomas

I'm not afraid of getting older.

I'm one less day

From dying young!

Here’s to never growing up, Avril Lavigne

My song is below picture!

"Stop This Train" by John Mayer: An acoustic song about watching parents age and wishing time would slow down.

Time passages, Al Stewart

One of my favorite songs ever and appropriately it’s his BD 🎶💜🎊

Getting Old S*cks (But Everybody’s Doing It) - Bowling for Soup

We used to run wild in the streets now we complain
When cars drive too fast and the music is insanely loud
Now our memories are fading away
And looking back it was all worth it
The truth is getting old s*cks, but everybody's doing it

My song below the picture!

“Grow Old With Me” by Tom Odell.

This 2013 indie folk tune reflects the earnest hope of a young lover who seeks to spend the rest of his days with the one he loves most in this world. He forecasts outward changes of their greying hair as well as their aging hands and bodies. However, he seeks to share all that life has to offer with her.

Dog and butterfly, Heart

One of my favs of theirs from 1976.

Not a song I thought was about aging until I looked at the lyrics:

We’re getting older, the worlds getting colder….

“Just one more candle and a trip around the sun”

Trip Around the Sun - Jimmy Buffett and Martina McBride

“Maggie May” - Rod Stewart (1971)
