For many an original song that they love cannot and will not ever be duplicated by a cover, but there are many songs that have been done equally (debatebly) well by others..

So do you have favorites?

What are your favorite covers of favorite songs?

Only the Lonely  -  Roy Orbison cover by Chris Isaak

Nobody covers Roy Orbison, and other songs of this era, like Chris Isaak! He's got the voice, and he's got the vibe.  💛

haha, I've been watching that for years. It is a trip. Love it.

edit to add: their version of Thunderstruck is even better

It's OK. Doesn't make for a good country tune, even if  it's played

    at blinding speed.

OK for English rock blues, saw them twice.

The real version is the guy that wrote it, with the great Little Walter on harp (harmonica).

Everytime you go away, Paul Young, 1985.

Original done by Hall&Oates in 1980. I do like

    Paul’s version but he can’t top Hall&Oates

    🎼💜

Really nice version of Daryl Hall's original.

I agree the guy who wrote it it did it better.

But Paul Young had a big hit with it.

    You’ve lost that lovin’ feelin’, Hall&Oates, 1980.

Original done by the Righteous Brothers in 1965.

I do like the Hall&Oates version but it doesn’t

hold up against the Righteous Brothers 🎼💜

NOBODY not even the great Daryl Hall, will ever top Bill Medley & Bobby Hatfield's

version of  the classic "You've Lost That Lovin' Feelin'.

You Don't Have to Say You Love Me- Elvis' cover of Dusty Springfield hit. Both great versions.

I fought the law, Bobby Fuller Four, 1966

Covered by The Clash in 1977. Their version

is certainly respectable but the original just

outshines it in every way 🎼💜

Something in the air, Thunderclap Newman,1969

Covered by Tom Petty in 1993. Although I like

the Petty version, I doubt anyone’s version

would stand up to the original 🎼💜
