Membership Worth?

 I live in a small town and rarely travel. I believe I have used my membership once or twice in all the years I have had it. Apparently, membership is only valuable if you live in a large metropolitan area. Yes, I know there are online benefits, such as quizzes, games, and videos. I am talking about those within the community. Am I missing membership benefits? I am seriously thinking of cancelling my membership even though it is only $20/year.

      From what I have read, refunds are prorated at pennies on the dollar, otherwise, I would have cancelled my 5 year membership. Good luck

      I get your frustration.  I enjoy reading the physical bulletin and the magazine over the years and for me it pays for itself just for that enjoyment alone.  Very inexpensive, and I enjoy that aspect.

      Check out AARP in Your State for events near you. If you renew for 5 years at a time, it won't even cost you $20/year.  There is a lot of interesting reading on the AARP website about all kinds of topics.  I have AARP file my taxes every year for free. However you don't have to be a member to use their service:  Get Free Help Filing Your Taxes  I also attend a lot of their Virtual Events online.  Virtual Community Center
