Email change in account details

I have entered my new email address on the Account Details page. The verification email arrived, however the verification link in it returns me to the Account Details page, but does not complete loading it.  All I get is the spinning circle.  I have tried the Bot's suggestions (clear cookies, etc) to no avail.  I have also tried a different browser; my default is Firefox, but I tried Edge, too.

Any other suggestions?
