Labor Day is a federal holiday in the United States celebrated on the first Monday of September to honor and recognize the American labor movement and the works and contributions of laborers to the development and achievements in the United States. Before taking the kids out for a couple of hours of Community Service, I thought I'd post something that captures the spirit of Labor Day: Community Gardens - A Brief History Note: This is not a political opinion. It is a cultural opinion. The second half of the opening description is more relevant than the first half.

In today's major corporate world. it seems that some cafes and restaurants are refusing to offer discounts for those over the age of 55. Car dealerships are also guilty of that as well. At one time when a restaurant has shooed away an elderly person, someone saw it and launched a boycott and got the restaurant manager in trouble. Now sometimes, a restaurant chain or a coffee shop chain would put the blame on corporate and it ends up boiling down to a stupid he said-she said game. Starbucks sometimes think it's so fun to nor offer senior discounts and they say just because there are so many that are over the age of 55 that they feel they would lose money if they did offer the huge discounts. The truth is that if the establishment is boycotted, they would lose more money with a boycott than offering discounts. Maybe it is time we launch protests or boycotts against all companies who fail to offer discounts to those over the age of 55.

Almost missed it! I love clowns! 🤡 I never thought clowns were funny, though. I just thought they were interesting. How 'National Clown Week' (.pdf) came to be! ⬇️ Although opinions vary as to who first had the idea for a clown week or who first started petitioning their congressmen for a proclamation to make this a celebrated week, clowns everywhere are glad it came to pass. History has shown that there was a humble beginning to this celebration in the early 1950's, but October 8th, 1970 the House and Senate approved the proclamation and sent it to the president for a signature into law. On August 2nd, 1971, President Nixon signed a Proclamation into law that August 1st through the 7th shall be known as, 'National Clown Week.' If you're afraid of clowns, there's a word for it: 'Coulrophobia.' [Why Are You So Afraid of Clowns? - Time][The History and Psychology of Clowns Being Scary - Smithsonian Magazine] Articles:🤡 It’s
And, you'll receive month-long good luck! Simply say the following words (aloud), 'Rabbit! Rabbit!, the very first thing on August 1st, and you'll see yourself basking in good luck! There are other variations to this, such as...some say, 'Rabbit! Rabbit! Rabbit!', or 'White Rabbit!' Folklore suggests any of these variations will (also) work. For those night owls/rabbits, speaking these 2 or 3 words just after midnight still counts (although you haven't sleep yet). Be sure to 'thank' this little fella, Mr. Rabbit 🐇 , if you do have some good luck, throughout the month. And, in return, he'll wiggle his little nose, just for you! /)/)( . .)( づ♡ This will be my third rabbiting experience (my first being in September [2023], then a second time in October [2023], but I did not have any good luck during those months. Let's try this again. Third times the charm, right?). Anyway, I do hope to see Mr. Rabbit wiggle his nose (one day)! Y
