Is NY moving in the right direction on this important issue - other US states have similar laws but is it enough - IMO, it is not.

    if you don't agree with this method then how would you have it be done? 

    To me they have built in a time frame so the person can change their mind. 

    I mean if you need a faster way, there are plenty of those. Guns, tall buildings, rivers, railroad tracks, etc.

    You can always change your mind - that’s available anywhere.  In any US state that has it or in the expanded Canadian method - 

     

    The main difference in the MAID (Medical Aid in Dying) laws here and in the new one in Canada is that you do NOT have to be terminally ill in Canada to start the process of review by the Medical experts.  

     

    Switzerland / Netherlands have even more liberal laws on it.  

     

    You seem to be thinking of this as a form of suicide but most people think of it as a manner to end suffering.

    A controversial subject for some people - For others, they are well founded in their choice and beliefs in the matter.

      Well, no matter how you spell it, it is a form of suicide. Anyone, no matter how they do it, that take their life is suffering from something. I know that this isn't the same kind of pain that people have when they use one of those methods.

       

      I believe that we should do everything possible to relieve the pain. I know that I would not vote for this to become a law. I don't know if I would vote to stop it from becoming a law. 

      I don't know what I would do if faced with this decision. Just like the people who jumped from the top of the Twin Towers on 9/11, they knew what was coming and they made a choice. Not for me to say it was the wrong one.
