I just read an article that scared the heck out of me. I have never suffered from hot flashes or other menopausal issues, so I was reluctant to try an estrogen cream that my doctor prescribed when I told him I was starting to get incontinence and had recently had a UTI. Then I saw this article which is too long to post here. Recently, the concerns about hormone replacement therapy (HRT) leading to cancer were disproved. This article stated that estrogen vaginal creams need to be used by menopausal women to prevent UTI’s. If untreated, UTI’s lead to sepsis and even death.
