Hi Nicole. I had two of my granchildren spend the night which was wonderful. But now they are home and my mind begins to wander to the past. I just cannot believe that Terry is gone. I see older couples shopping together and I feel that Terry and I should still be doing that. It seems so unfair. I’m very concerned about the holidays. Last year Terry’s death was only two weeks old at Christmas. I was numb and “out of it.”  This year I’m very aware of Terrys absence and I’m fearful of what that is going to feel like during the holiday season.  I guess I’ll find out.  Thanks for listening. 📜   “Deep grief sometimes is almost like a specific location, a coordinate on a map of time. When you are standing in that forest of sorrow, you cannot imagine that you could ever find your way to a better place. But if someone can assure you that they themselves have stood in that same place, and now have moved on, sometimes this will bring hope.” — ELIZABETH GILBERT (American journalist and author)

🔔   Honoring your loved one’s memory helps you stay connected in meaningful ways. It turns pain into a lasting tribute and allows you to carry love forward while continuing to live your life.

Try one or more of these ideas:

(1) Create a memory box filled with letters, photos, and personal mementos.

(2) Plant a garden or tree to symbolize renewal.

(3) Cook their favorite meal or play their favorite song on special occasions.

(4) Volunteer for a cause that mattered to them.

Dear Sheila @SheilaR696461 , I am so sorry for your loss dear friend!!! Losing the luv of our lives is something we NEVER recover from. But EACH time we "try" to move forward, we get "stronger". I lost mine to COVID. Still very angry and have my moments of feeling sorry for myself. And YES, it "feels" like we are on a ROLLERCOASTER RIDE. What helped me in 2025 after "trying" to deal with my loss on my own, was Individual Counseling for a few months. Medicare covered mine as I am 68. Maybe IF you are "interested" your insurance may also. Alot of our Group Members found "support" through the ONLINE Griefshare or through their church. I am VERY PRIVATE, so I wanted only a one-on-one setup. I am SO GLAD you stopped by to see us & hope you will AGAIN.

Luv,

Nicole 💛🤗 (Grief Forum)

➡️[*** SHEILA POSTED - I lost my husband on 5/31/25, after a diagnosis of Primary Central Nervous System Lymphoma on 12/13/25. His disease was twice refractory and he went into home hospice on 4/24/26. My feelings are a roller coaster. One minute I’m deep in the trenches of sadness and grief. Perhaps a few minutes later I’m feeling like I’m ok and it’ll be ok. Then a few minutes later I’m not. It can be minutes, hours, or days between, but sometimes it really is literal minutes. I’m 55 and still working. Work is hard. He was 65 and had retired 5/1/25.

Hi and thank you, Nicole. I am in a support group with the hospice and another group that has been very helpful as well. I’ve tried counseling 2 times and both times were not a good experience. I understand it can take time to find the right counselor, but I’m not sure I have it in me to try over and over. Today I have my own oncology recheck appointment. It’ll be my first without my husband by my side. I have every reason to believe it’ll be good news, but I’m so sad he’s not here to go with me. I went to the Cancer Center last week for bloodwork and after I checked in and sat down the tears started. He didn’t treat at the same Cancer Center, so it wasn’t memories of him being there. Anyway, I hope today goes ok.

👍 Possible SIGNS of Connection!!!

Many people who are grieving report experiencing SUBTLE SIGNS that make them feel their SPOUSE is still aware of them.

You might look for:

(1) Dreams: Vivid, comforting dreams where you communicate or simply feel his/her presence.

(2) Synchronicities: Hearing "your song" at unexpected moments, seeing a specific bird or butterfly, or noticing recurring numbers.

(3) Sensing Presence: A sudden wave of warmth, a familiar scent, or a feeling of closeness when you are thinking about him/her.

*** As you "relax & expect" YOU WILL get your "unique" signs of COMFORT. Nicole 🤗💛

➡️. Happens to most people I know, as well as myself usually when you need it the most at the beginning of loss, and in times when you need them. Very cool feeling.
