Sorry this is not worth it

I don’t care if aarp bans me it’s not worth it. I got the points I needed for a gift card and I can’t redeem it because I’ve read apparently they lock it for suspicious activity like accumulating too many points too fast but their point limit is 7,500 so it doesn’t make sense for them to lock my account to prevent me from redeeming points. Aarp is a scam and won’t be renewing my account and will make sure others know about it if they want to make an account. It’s a waste of time and their customer service is slow and they don’t care so I don’t care either. Delete

Hi @ManuelV952096

I'm sorry to hear how frustrating this experience has been. I can understand why you'd be upset after spending time earning points for a reward and then finding that you're unable to redeem them.

Please know that account reviews are not intended to prevent members from using their points. In some cases, an account may be flagged for additional verification, and when that happens, our Rewards Team needs to take a closer look to ensure the security of the account and the program for all members.

To have this issue reviewed, please contact AARP Member Services at the link below:

An AARP representative will create a case and escalate it to our Rewards Team. Once received, the Rewards Team will take a closer look at your account, investigate the issue, and work to resolve it.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

No one knows exactly what the “suspicious” activity is that results in redemption bans, because they won’t tell you.  You can try to get your account restored.  From previous comments in other discussion posts (these discussions were available before the discussion update but I’m not sure if they are still available after the update), people have been able to get their bans lifted, but this may take awhile, so it is up to you if you want to put in the effort to do this.

Sorry that happened to you.  Seems to happen a lot from what I’ve read here.
