Soc sec survivors benefits

My husband just passed and I need help filling out the social security survivors benefits application. I dont know where to find some of the answers. Can someone at AARP help?

    Hi @MikeW2000   Im sorry for your loss.   It’s hard to navigate all of this, I’m sorry.  
    Not sure when or if a person from AARP will pop into these boards.  I do have a few suggestions.

     

    If you haven’t tried yet, your local Social Security office near you may be able to help.  But many times it can be frustrating getting a hold of them.

     

    Another idea could be your local Area Agency On Aging.

    Also too, they can help you find your local Area Agency On Aging location.  Area Agencies on Aging is a helpful organization in every state that work to help seniors.  They can provide answers and resources for you.
