Seeking examples of Senior Club Funding Models supported by municipalities
Our municipality provides some funding for the six senior clubs in our area.
Going forward we are advised funding will now only be provided if residents attend 10 town senior activities a year, and will be monitored by attendance sheets.
We have 700+ registered members. This will be an onerous task and one that can disadvantage certain seniors.
Can anyone supply examples of municipality support for senior clubs not based on attendance at each activity? We provide meetings, picnics, trips, social games, golf club, lunches with speakers, holiday parties, etc.
The new funding model may be a net monetary loss to the club, yet the club provides many great services to seniors for their socialization, mental health, and well being to thrive during this stage of their life.
