plastic pollution

 I have just renewed my membership and was shocked that I was sent 3 reminder and 1 receipt letter each containing 2 plastic membership cards. What a waste of money for aarp and huge addition to the plastic pollution problem.  8 extra plastic cards to how many thousands of members and potential members?  Shame on you!

 

The cards are rarely removed from the wallet and could easily be paper.

Please consider printed paper cards if you must have them at all.

     I have received two additional plastic cards since my first post.  My mailing preferences are for limited email reminders and there is no way to opt out of reminders by mail.

    I do not believe the organization is 'exploring options' to reduce plastic use because I have sent similar complaints for many years.

     It will actually save  money if you eliminate plastic cards and duplicate or unwanted mailings. Money that could be spent on more important things
