If you have a transit service in your area...they should be able to provide transportation.  Otherwise...try Nextdoor.  We have a lot of drivers in our area who help seniors with rides.        Maybe the facility can suggest a taxi service.

@StephanieL789590 , Hi, In addition to what Jen said, also try local area churches or synagogues, as well as civic organizations.  Many times there are volunteers who can help out a fellow community member.  But asking is the key.  Good luck.  I have a feeling you’ll be able to find someone able to help, just need to reach out.

Hi @StephanieL789590

If you need someone to drive you to your colonoscopy and remain available during the procedure, you may want to contact Eldercare Locator, a free referral service that can help connect you with local resources, including transportation and in-home support services.

You can reach Eldercare Locator in the following ways:

  • Website & Live Chat: https://eldercare.acl.gov/
  • Phone: 1-800-677-1116 (Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. ET)
  • Email: eldercarelocator@n4a.org

When you contact them, let them know that you need assistance with transportation and someone to accompany you during your medical procedure. They may be able to provide referrals to services in your area that can help.

Please note that the referral service itself is free, but any services arranged through local providers may have associated costs.

I hope this helps, and best wishes for your upcoming procedure. 🙂

Stephanie @StephanieL789590 , unless you have a friend or family member, you will probably have to pay someone.

Have you asked your doctor IF he knows of any "agencies" that provide this service?

I am assuming your insurance does NOT cover this.

Good Luck,

Nicole!
