Forum Feedback: Threaded Replies Hard to Find

Has been mentioned before, but was mentioned to start new topics. @sandy , you admitted that replies were buried within a long thread and easily missed when replying to @SereneSeagull about closing a topic. So it is a problem. Now the replies are threaded and if more than one reply, it defaults to a link to be clicked to read the next, then more clicking reply links and so on and so forth. This can completely bury replies that may cause something to be missed.  If you forgo replying to a reply and post where it is visible, that creates out of context confusion. The simple way to view is have replies indented once and stay visibly listed for viewing all and not missing clicking several links to find. Also, we should be able to click on a reply link posted on a forum list or notices and have it go to that post without having to send out the search dogs.

Questions:

1. Can this be addressed and implemented?

2. Did AARP purchase the dollar store simple version and can't pay to have changes implemented or employees that can code? Just that with AARP getting a billion plus dollars for products and services marketing, shouldn't there be some set aside for this?

Now, I am not being snarky. I just want to know if we can make this forum more usable and enjoyable for everyone. Thank you.

I agree, @Vexed.  I’ve actually lost interest in posting. I never thought I’d get to that point, but I am.

 This new board is very clunky and too cumbersome to deal with. By the time you get to a tagged post you’ve had to peel open every response just to find the one you were tagged in.  Why can’t it open automatically to that post?  With as much hype and excitement they poured into promoting this “New Experience”, I was expecting something better than what was delivered.  This just left me feeling very underwhelmed.

Hopefully they can improve the experience, because if we’ve transitioned to what the final product is now, that’s just so disappointing.  Great detailed suggestions.  Hope they can implement changes. 👍

@Vexed & @SereneSeagull , I hate this NEW SETUP!!!

Between them changing how the AARP Private Messages (PMs) are set up and the OTHER "issues" you BOTH mentioned - geez and geez. 🙄
