Albertson's gift card

I redeemed my Albertson’s gift card that I got from the Daily Deal.  When I opened the card from my email that I got from AARP, the bar code/QR code was missing.  The card explicitly says that you must print and scan the bar code in order to use it.  I contacted AARP support and they told me that I can just use the code with the pin.  The cards says: “Redemption Steps: Customer must present eGift QR code payment either printed, or on mobile device to Checker as tender.”  Has anyone else had this issue?
