What's your favorite version of Mahjongg?

We have quite a few versions of Mahjongg to play, and we are curious if you have a favorite one you play here?  Tell us your favorites and how often you play!

I like to play the original version.  Twice now it was supplanted by another version of tiles.  The latest is Tracphone.  It is difficult to find the original version when AARP does this.  I am so glad that Betty and SereneGull have given replies.  These have been helpful as my husband and I both had different issues from each other with refinding the game.

I have been playing the classic version daily for a long time and am very disappointed that you have made it harder to find and it no longer appears on my Recently Played info. As a senior set in her ways, I find this distressing and am sure there are others who agree. Please stop pushing the Tracphone version on me and return my account to remembering that the classic version is the one I play. I already have enough memory challenges as it is and I think you should be more sensitive to those of us who need constancy in our later years. I very much appreciate your help.

Hi @destinyarn , I love the original one.  Not sure what device you use.  But try this.

At the top of AARP’s webpage, choose Games, from the headings.  From there it will take you directly to the Most Popular games, and the original Mahjongg game is the first game you’ll see.

I have a screenprint here…

Hi Betty! Tnanks so much for your comment and tutorial!! It seems that the original version was restored to my favorites shortly after my comment. Hope you enjoy many more hours of the original Mahjongg as I am! Best from Carol

Hi @bettyb1015 , the original didn’t get deleted, it’s still there, I play it.  See my screenprint above.

The ORIGINAL mahjongg is my favorite & I try to play it every night before going to sleep .  Recently it has been difficult as it appears you are trying to push a version by Tractone.  And no matter that I indicate the ORIGINAL version the newer one comes up,  Disappointing!!!

I enjoy the classic version of Mahjongg the most. It’s relaxing, but still gives you enough of a challenge to keep things interesting. I don’t play every day, but I like coming back to it whenever I have some free time.

Probably not the most popular opinion around here, but I for one am so glad Tracfone’s Mahjongg Solitaire is back! I missed the dopamine hit from the big point jump at the end and the amazingly high scores. I’d love to see the “traditional” version adopt a time bonus (the more time left when you complete the board, the bigger the bonus). Plus it’s pretty.

Well, my favorite version was the Dark Dimensions called "Deprecated" Dark Dimensions but it has disappeared today.  Does anybody know if it has been discontinued, or is there a problem with it.  I want it back!  It's the only game that I play daily.

Arkadium has Mahjong Solitaire II (misspelling included 😉 which is a great brain game! "Daily Challenge" and "Zen Mode"

Perhaps that might be considered for adding to our AARP home?

Thanks for reading, Teri.

Done with this "new" and "improved"... kinda like dotard improved America...
