What is Word Clash?
Word Clash is a fast-paced competitive word game where you take turns searching for words in a seven-letter wheel. At the end of five rounds, whoever has the most points wins!
What is the goal of the game?
The goal of the game is to have more points than your opponent at the end of five rounds.
Is my opponent a real person?
Yes!
How do I get more points?
To get points in Word Clash, when it’s your turn, click on the letters that make up a word. When you do that, you’ll get a certain number of points. Get more points at the end of the game and you win!
How many points do I get for each word?
If you want to win, you need to look for words that are five, six, or even seven letters long. You get more points for longer words, and whoever has the highest point value when the guessing is complete wins.
Here is how many points you get for each word:
- 3 letters – 3 points
- 4 letters – 5 points
- 5 letters – 7 points
- 6 letters – 9 points
- 7 letters – 12 points
It’s worth spending extra time looking for the seven-letter words before settling for a shorter one.
How much time do I get for each guess?
You get 25 seconds to guess, unless you use a power up.
What are power ups?
There are two power ups: a light bulb and a stopwatch. During your turn you can use these: the light bulb is a hint that will show you a word in the wheel, and the stopwatch gives you more time to think through your next move.
How do I get power ups?
There are a few ways to get power ups. Win a match and you may get one of the power ups randomly. Or click on the power up icons (or the spinning wheel) on the menu screen to get more, after watching an ad.
How do I use my power ups?
Simply click the icon for the power up you want to use when it’s your turn.
Can I change my profile picture?
Yes. From the menu screen, in the top left, click your avatar. From that screen, you can change your profile picture and player name.
Can I turn off the sound effects and music?
Yes. From the menu, you can click on the settings gear at the top of the screen and toggle the music and effects on and off. During a game, you can access the settings gear at the bottom right of the screen.
Can I leave a game midway through?
Yes. During a game, click the door icon in the bottom left of the screen.
Can I ask for a rematch after a game?
Yes. When the game ends, a “rematch” button will appear. If both players click it, they’ll play again. The rematch button goes away after a few seconds, though, so be quick. After it disappears, the button will say “New Match.” Click on that and you’ll get a new opponent.
What happens if I tie my opponent?
If you tie, neither player gets additional rewards such as power ups.
