FAQ: What is Garden Bloom?

Garden Bloom is a Match 3 game where you match different color flowers. The better you do, the more opportunities you have to repair Lucy’s dilapidated garden in between levels!

What is the goal of the game?

The goal of the game is to complete each level by succeeding in the level’s goals. Each level has different goals – a score to reach, a certain number of flowers to clear – and you have a certain number of moves to complete them. The fewer moves you need to reach your goals, the more stars you get.

When do I beat a level?
You beat a level if you complete the goals – which are listed on the left-hand side of the screen – before you run out of moves.

What are stars for?

When you complete a level, you’ll get stars – more if you complete it quickly. In between each level, you can use those stars to help repair Lucy’s garden.

What happens if I run out of moves?

If you run out of moves, you lose one heart. You start the game with five hearts.

What happens if I run out of hearts?

If you run out of hearts, you will need to wait until the timer elapses and your hearts recharge.

How do I play?

Playing Garden Bloom is very similar to playing other Match 3 games. Click and drag or swipe two flowers to swap their places. If the swap leads to three flowers of the same color lining up, those flowers will clear and new ones will drop in to fill their spots.

How much time do I get per level?

There is no timer in Garden Bloom.

What special pieces can I get to remove more flowers –- and what do they do?

A key to success is finding the special pieces – all of which are garden critters – that allow you to move flowers faster. After all, the fewer moves you use to hit your goals, the more stars you get, and the faster you can fix up Lucy’s garden!

You can access these special critters:

  • The Bee – Match 4 flowers instead of just 3 and a bee will appear. Match the bee with flowers of the same color to remove the entire line.
  • The Ladybug – Match two lines of 3 flowers at once and a ladybug will appear. Match the ladybug with flowers of the same color and all the nearby flowers will be removed.
  • The Butterfly – Match 5 flowers instead of 3 and a butterfly will appear. Match that with another flower and all those flowers on the board will be removed.

Also, try to find ways to match two of the bugs – you’ll get a big reaction!

What boosters can I use?

As you progress through the game, you will unlock special boosters and powerups that will help you clear the more difficult levels. The boosters are very helpful, as you can choose one before each round begins. Your options are the same as the special creatures that you’ll see while playing:

  • The Bee, which removes an entire line.
  • The Ladybug, which removes all flowers nearby.
  • The Butterfly, which removes all flowers of one color when matched.

Choose one of these at the beginning of each level (when they become available), and several of the spaces on the board will be replaced with what you chose. This is a great way to get started and have a successful run!

Can I replay a level after beating it?

Yes. You can reselect a level after beating it. This is a good idea especially if you received less than three stars the last time you beat it – there’s always an opportunity to max out your stars!

What do I do in the garden?

In between levels, you can either play the next level or go back to Lucy’s garden. There, if you have enough stars, you can repair some of the broken fixtures in the garden, such as benches and decorations. On the bottom left of the screen you can click on your to-do list, where you can see what you need to fix – and how many more stars you need to fix it. You can move around the garden by clicking and dragging (or swiping). On the bottom right of the screen, you can click on the book with the number in it to select another level to play.

How many levels are there?

More than 2,000!

Is my progress saved?

Yes. As long as you play on the same device and inside the same browser, your progress will save in between sessions.

Can I turn off the sound and music in Cubis 2?

Yes. Click on the gear icon, and there you can toggle the music and sound on and off.

I'm so tired of playing level 446.  Over and over. About to forget about this game. It's ridiculous.

I finally made it past the glitch (after many attempts) by pressing the 2 butterflies and got up to at least Level 617 but after my computer went to sleep, I came back to see the main PLAY page of the game and when I pushed PLAY it took me back down to Level 448.  Very frustrating....

I, too am back to Level 448 for the 5th time!!!

I was done with the beach and 1 away from the "magic flower" and last night my computer did an update and the progress was gone this morning! Very depressing and annoying. Why isn't there a way to click and save progress? And I was logged in.

Glad to hear I'm not the only one and that they are working on it.

Why is the game looping and deleting completed challenge stars?  I have repaired the same palm tree for the last 6 times of acquiring the amount of stars needed to complete the task.

So...I did clear my cache, which I never knew was a thing. So far things are going well but I'm approaching where everything got canceled out before. I'm at Level 544 and I think it all went back down to 448 after about 10 more Levels.

So I'm apprehensive and living in fear that my laptop will do an update or crash and it will all be lost again. Can AARP or Arkadium or whoever PLEASE make a way to easily save game progress?

Every other game I've ever played has a simple way to do this.

same issue as several other people, always reverts back to level 448.  I was up in the upper 600s and then power went out and now continually loops back to level 448.

📎  [9/9/25] @m391871w , maybe if everyone contacts Arkadium, they will fix this game. For those who have, any updates? They really need to fix it. Will be 2 months shortly since game was made available to AARP Members on 7/24/25. Nicole!

So I got up to Level 570, and since my laptop was saying I needed an update, and I feared losing everything, I thought I'd try a new tactic and actually sign out of my account whereas I've been leaving the game up for days while I periodically play. Nope, signing out didn't save it. I signed back in and back on the beach at Level 448.

Sigh.....

Has the glitch that causes the game to reset to Level 448 when you get past that level, exit the game, and then come back to the game been fixed yet? At this point, I'm not willing to play the game until I know that this issue has been fixed. It's a pity, too; I was really enjoying the game!

I just received an email (in reply to mine) from Arkadium:

"We did some internal changes and the issue you reported has to be resolved. Please take a moment to check if everything is working as expected.

If the issue still exists, please, get back to us with details.

Thanks for your patience".

I haven't tried it yet, but wanted to let everyone know.  I'm hoping all's well with the game 🙂

Unfortunately, it may be a bit early for a happy dance.  I just tried playing again...got up to level 456 or so, "x'd out" of the game, went back in, and it's back to level 448 😣  I replied to Arkadium's email with my results.

I tried the game again (after receiving Arkadium's email), but no luck.  Played to level 456 or so, and it still reverted back to level 448 when I went back into the game.  Pretty disappointing.  I replied to Arkadium's email and told them my results.

If anyone's able to get past this issue, please let me know.

Same here. Reverted to 448.  Such a fun game idea but not worth the glitches?

Thanks.

Yes I did contact Arkadium, using the form on the bottom of this page and by email as well. They thanked me for informing them of problems and say they're working on it. Hope they figure it out soon.

@AARPTeri  At the risk of sounding totally stupid (it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to post this message), how does a person "earn" coins to spend on boosts?  I'm collecting 100 coins per day but that isn't enough to buy anything.  Can't you convert your points to coins somewhere?  Being stuck in the Level 448 loop, I automatically go back to 200 coins every day.

You are not sounding stupid at all. I haven't figured out the coin thing either. I just play without the boosts.

And I find this whole Games Talk site hard to navigate. I can't figure out how to post without doing it through a reply. I can't find a link for it. Even doing the reply is hard because sometimes it allows me to write the reply but not enter it.

I post on newspaper sites all the time. I have never seen a website so unintuitive and hard to havigate. I usually end up clicking all over until I find it. Even when I try to get here I first find the page but it's headed up by old posts. I have to scroll back and forth and then the new ones magically appear.
