Daily Crossword never shows I completed a puzzle

I get this often, usually on iPad.  I do a second puzzle, usually the previous day and after I complete it, even though todays puzzle says I earned but no checkmark, yesterdays shows the checkmark.  When I use laptop I don’t seem to have the problem.
