WE would luv to hear about YOUR garden!!! 🌻

Yesterday, I dug up my Caladium bulbs for Winter Storage here in Virginia. Lol, hopefully they will grow NEXT Spring. IF not, will get more at Walmart. The bulbs are "pricey" but worth it. Beautiful indeed. These a neighbor gave me for this year's Mother's Day. My 1st harvesting them. 🤞 Drying them OUTSIDE while I can. Lol, one NEVER knows IF we are in Summer or Fall. 😂

Morning Glory still "blooming". Will harvest seeds before cutting it down for Winter. Will have LOTS of seeds to "share" with neighbors.

Getting COLDER here on my Virginia hill, but we still have a "few" Summer Days to remind us - it is still here.

Time to "decide" whether to "shutdown" our gardens until NEXT Spring or figure out what will SURVIVE WINTER.

Junipers are my favorite. Come in "various" kinds & a great option to ADD Christmas lights outside.

Me, I am SHUTTING down until Spring. NOT enough space in my two "tiny" gardens on either side of my cute Studio Apt PORCH for a juniper.

Plan to "dig up" my 5 Caladium Bulbs soon and harvest my Morning Glory Seeds too.

Well, I guess Mother Nature CANNOT make up her mind here in Virginia. Some days are Fall, then back to Summer. Once she "settles" into Fall, will be time to "dig" up my 5 Caladium Bulbs to "store" for the Winter. Going to leave Morning Glory alone but plan on "harvesting" some seeds. Had bought a pack of seeds. BOTH seeds & bulbs came from Walmart.

(1) Harvesting the Morning Glory seeds for the 1st time. Lol, read up on this online. Doing ONE seed pod at a time as it takes 2 to 4 weeks BEFORE they are ready. Watching 1st bloom one for it to turn BROWN. It is FULL of seeds after flower "faded" on 9/3. Anyone else harvesting any seeds?

(2) NEXT will be to "dig up" the 5 Caladium Bulbs when they are ready to be "stored" for the Winter. Another 1st for me. Anyone else storing bulbs?

(1) 1st bloom TODAY for the Morning Glory SEEDS I sowed from Walmart. One pack $1.96 & it has taken over.

(2) Soaked seeds overnight. Notched them first. Sowed 6/5/26. Three months for 1st bloom.

5 Caladium bulbs came up & doing well. Still waiting on a 1st bloom for Morning Glory seeds I sowed. 🤞

I am not much for seeds - bulbs, yes and plants, yes - inside and out, I am covered in them everywhere.

These bulbs came from old family relatives, long gone . . . but these come back every year.  So I think of them when they do.  

There are also some daffodils but they are long gone for this season - I did manage to corral all of them this last year.  So the should be real pretty next year in a solid panting.

These are (blue) Japanese roof lilies - beginning bulbs came from from my grandmother.  The next (2) pics are spider lilies and the beginning bulbs for them came from my favorite aunt.

[6/5/26] I started late with things as here in Virginia we kept getting Winter in the "midst" of Spring. 😭

Lol, took a "chance" and SOWED my seeds "directly" into ground May 15th.

Usually do this AFTER Easter.

I have TWO gardens outside my CUTE Studio Apt in the Virginia hills.

One side gets ONLY about 1 hour of sun.

The other, NO sun.

*** A challenge indeed as most plants need MORE sun.

Last year 2025 was my 1st time at gardening in Virginia.

ALWAYS did in Sunny Florida.
