Don’t just set and forget this key part of your estate plan.

While too many people procrastinate and never get around to drafting a last will and testament, that’s one financial chore you’ve wisely managed to tackle. And simply by having a will, you’re already ahead of the curve.
 
According to the 2024 Wills and Estate Planning Study from Caring.com, only one-third of Americans have prepared a will. The survey found that roughly 40 percent of U.S. adults have put off this crucial financial task because they feel they don’t have enough assets to warrant drafting a will or preparing an estate plan.

    I have had a ton of changes in my life since my last Will was completed so it is time to do a complete redo or else I will be having my X-SIL deciding on many personal things for me - I still like him OK but I need to get him out from under directing my instructions.  Plus, I don’t need to start up any arguments between the divorced parties - there is enough of that with joint custody.

     

    It is next on my TO DO List.

      📎  [9/23/24] @GailL1 , I didnot think about "divorces" affecting our wills. Good reminder. I recently made mine along with all the OTHER documents. Glad my daughter understands my Health Directive - let me go when my time arrives. Nicole

      You only have to change the Will because of a divorce IF they were included in the previous one by name.

       

      Like I said, I have had lots of changes - this was just one -
