So here's a song topic that I don't recall us having played - Songs about Games. What songs can you think of about games, mentioned or implied, of any sort in the title or lyrics? So I'll start with this one as sort of a "blanket" title - - - The Games People Play - Joe South

TransformationWhile I was enjoying watching and listening to a spirited rendition of Verdi’s Requiem included in my subscription to the Met on Demand, I remembered the first time I had encountered that requiem. As a teenager, I loved symphonies but despised opera and other types of choral works. But my father, an aficionado of all forms of classical music, one day at his friend’s house tried to introduce me to Verdi’s Requiem. He put me in a back room, started the record player, locked the door, and left me without saying an encouraging word. I valiantly sought to find some merit in the Requiem, but I had a visceral distaste for the recording from the redundant beginning until the anti-climactic ending. Of course, being trapped in that room added to my anxiety. Although I wanted to please my father after he unlocked the door, all I could do is crack my knuckles and bitterly sigh. He had miserably failed to achieve his goal. I hated Verdi’s Requiem with a passion.Go figure! As an adult,
1st season of this show and it definitely has my attention - not just the plot but the writing style and the long list of characters who are great in their various roll playing. In most murder mysteries, you are looking for the “who done it” but not so here - (10) episodes in and we are still trying to not only find out “who done It” but the WHO was murdered?
We use to have a pretty good group discussing THE VOICE - but now I wonder where everybody has gone.SEASON 27 of the show and there is still no shortage of talent - In fact, this maybe the best year yet in the talent world of all different types of genres. 1st time I can remember that there were this vast style of singers moving on to the last steps of the process. Has the show moved on from picking country so much? Course, Blake has left but I still don’t think that is the reason - Judges this year are: John Legend, Kelsea Ballerini, Michael Bublé, and Adam Levine. I like them all especially 2nd year judge Michael Buble’- WHO IS GONNA WIN? Who is your choice?
Don’t know if this has been done before. Name songs about royalty or that mention royalty The King is Dead-Elton John
Any song that has One in the title: One - Three Dog Night One Toke Over the Line - Brewer & Shipley

I don’t remember doing this subject. If we did, it was years forever ago. 😸There should be a lot of these songs, titles or lyrics with jobs or occupations, etc. Journeyman - Blackmore’s Night Journeyman - Iron Maiden From Wikipedia —- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/JourneymanThe term "journeyman" was originally used in the medieval trade guilds. Journeymen were paid daily and the word "journey" is derived from journée, meaning "whole day" in French. Each individual guild generally recognised three ranks of workers: apprentices, journeymen, and masters. A journeyman, as a qualified tradesman, could become a master and run their own business, but most continued working as employees.[3]
So how many songs can you name with Food or Drinks in the Title or Lyrics.. This is a resurrected title. Original posted 2012 and I figured it was time for a re-run.

We have all posted a funny video in many topic threads. I thought it might be nice to have them in one location to view when we needed a good laugh. (I sometimes forget which ones were funny and there are sometimes many versions of videos). So, list those you posted in other threads or new ones you find. Or ones you like that are funny and never got to post in a certain topic thread. One of my favorites: Foo Fighters - "Learn to Fly " https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1VQ_3sBZEm0 I changed the topic title. Any funny music video is good.
Full Moon (Pink Moon): Occurs on April 12, 2025, at 8:22 PM Eastern Daylight Time [EDT]. The full Moon on April 12, 2025, occurs just before reaching apogee, which happens on April 13, 2025, at 6:49 PM EDT. Apogee refers to the point when the Moon is farthest from Earth. When the full Moon occurs near this point, it’s classified as a 'micromoon'—the opposite of a supermoon. The first full micromoon of 2025. Since this full Moon happens about 22 hours before apogee, it will appear slightly smaller and dimmer than usual. Why does the Moon’s distance vary? The Moon orbits Earth in an elliptical path, with one side closer and the other farther. While this affects its size and brightness, the difference is too subtle to notice with the naked eye. What often makes the Moon appear larger is the 'Moon illusion'— an optical effect that occurs when it’s near the horizon. Since this micromoon will be high in the sky, it likely won’t appear as large or imposing as a full Moon closer
I'll start with: There's A Moon 🌙 Out Tonight: Capris

A Surprising ConnectionToday, I browsed through one of the old brief storybooks that my daughter with the help of her children wrote and illustrated a decade before my wife and I settled in Hawaii. The booklet focused on my fictional alter ego, Schlemo, the snake who slithers into bunches of misadventures. In this instance, he inadvertently scares his partner Schlemina while she is on a rickety swing whose creepy reverberating sound had scared Schlemo. Discombobulated, Schlemina falls off the swing and hurts her spine. Schlemo is devastated. Searching in vain for the button to alert his friend Big Humphrey, an elephant who always succeeds in wresting Schlemo and his hapless friends out of predicaments, Schlemo becomes frantic. He eventually locates the button that had fallen into some nearby bushes. Big Humphrey once again saves the day, hoisting Schlemina and Schlemo on his trunk as he makes his way to the local doctor, an owl named Dr. Hoo. The good doctor manipulates Schelmina’s spi
As my cat tries to push her way onto my keyboard, reminding me to get busy with my weekend chores, it makes me think of all the songs and musicians with animals in their names. This could be a long list! I'll start with (musician) Eddie Rabbit (song) Cat's in the Cradle (originally by Harry Chapin) ( my cat made me choose that)
Altitude of GratitudeYesterday near Queen’s Medical Center, I saw a disheveled homeless person buffeted by the wind. He had streams of garbage clinging to his body. He looked like a discarded scarecrow waiting to be refurbished with decayed plumage. This person reminded me of John, one of my older community college students who I inexplicably happened to see sprawled at the dump as I was disposing my trash. In class, John was articulate and knowledgeable, always buoyant and optimistic, a role model for his classmates. But at the dump, almost completely covered with refuse, John started to blubber about how despondent he was since his wife died a few months ago. I was stunned by his transformation miserable situation. In class, John continued to be upbeat; but when he called me (sometimes late at night), he reemphasized his despair at losing his wife. My efforts to console him were futile until I mentioned group grief therapy. John attended every meeting and was ecstatic at the results: he
The Evolution of Well-being Outside the rec center adjacent to my condo building, a thick multi branched tree no longer has any blooms. It is a barren eyesore that I feel needs to be chopped down, but I (wheel-chair bound and afraid of trespassing) have no influence over that bleak reminder of our mortality. Today, however, I noticed clusters of small buds on all of the tree’s limbs, buds that presage a renewal of the surging life-giving force that reanimates nature. I have at times identified with the desiccated tree limbs, especially when I fell and fractured my pelvis. But just as the tree has begun to bloom, I have improved my well-being--bit by bit, bud by bud. The tree and I are curriers of wellness. I am confident that (with even a trace of moisture), the tree will once again flourish—just as I will reg
My Mother’s Wrath Revisited I loved playing stickball with my friends. Most of the time, my backyard was our default. When it was my turn to bat, I inadvertently tended to whack the ball onto the inaccessible roof that covered all of the apartments. Each time I did so, my mother had to reimburse the ball’s owner. When the game was over, I trotted upstairs to our home to receive my mother’s reprimand: a solid lashing with her trusty leather and potentially lethal belt for every ball that I lost in the crevices of the roof. Neither one of us discussed our actions, although I felt that my mother’s fury was unjust and excessively cruel. I whimpered; my mother snarled.Sixty years later when I was hospitalized in Hawaii, I was reminded of my stickball heydays. During a rain storm near the drain of a nearby roof, I noticed the bedraggled remains of a tennis ball. Immediately, I transported myself to my backyard transgressions and my mother’s painful retribution. It was a jolt
