Let's measure with the scale of it, 'Want' or 'Need', where one outweighs the other. 😉 In title, or lyrical. I will start with: Ramones - We Want The Airwaves
July 2nd is the 183rd day of the year, or 184th day during a leap year. It marks the halfway point of the year, with noontime being the exact halfway point in a non-leap year, and midnight serving as the halfway point of a leap year. It lends itself to today’s playlist, and eclectic mix of songs featuring the word half in their title. A Soundgarden song (R.I.P. Chris Cornell, a musical genius lost way too soon) lends the title of the blog. Some great half songs include several mega-hits, including Crystal Gayle’s “Half the Way,” Kenny Loggins’ “Meet Me Halfway,” John Mayer’s “Half of My Heart,” Billy Joel’s “Half a Mile Away,” Styx’ “Half Penny, Two Penny,” Wilson Picket’s “A Man and a Half” and “Ninety-Nine and One-Half (Won’t Do)” with CCR covering the same song, Lifehouse’s “Halfway Gone,” Patsy Cline and Ray Charles offering “Half As Much,” Keith Urban’s “You’re My Better Half,” One Direction’s “Half a Heart,” and Jelly Roll’s “Halfway to Hell.” So you’re halfway through

Can’t believe we haven’t had this song topic before, but I did a search, and it came up empty. List any songs (title or lyrics) about friends or friendship, being a friend, etc. We should know a lot of these. The song title that serves as the topic title was written by Burt Bacharach & Carole Bayer Sager. It was first recorded in 1982: That’s What Friends Are For, Rod Stewart But the better known version was the one released in 1985 by Dionne Warwick, Elton John, Gladys Knight, and Stevie Wonder.. It was released as a charity single to raise money for AIDS research and awareness. The song hit #1 in 1986, and raised more than $3m. It also won a couple of Grammys, including Song Of The Year. That’s What Friends Are For, Dionne Warwick & Friends
Happy New Year, Rock 'n' Rollers! Thought it might be fun to start the new year off with a new song topic - Songs That Ask A Question. I don't believe we've had this one before, or at least I don't recall it. So for 2018, how many song titles can we find that ask a question.
What is this mysterious glob of glow?
[It's all @MaVolta's fault! 😂] Songs with 'Can,' or 'Can't' in title/lyric. I will begin with... The Cure - Why Can't I Be You?

I love the night. It's so quiet, nobody is around. The night birds chirp outside my window. A lovely sound. Although, the cars are terribly loud. The trains...exhilarating. Echo, echo, echo. The mystery of night. Make a careful wish, on the first star you see. Please post your favorite songs that pertain to the 'Night.' In title or lyrical. I will begin with: Mr. Gnome - Night of The Crickets Thank you! 🙂
With our earth on the precipice of worldwide conflict, it came to mind that songs relating to war and conflict could end up being a huge list. I'll start the list with: EVE OF DESTRUCTION- Barry McGuire- 1965
This easy topic simply invites everyone to think of and then post the name of a song which includes any body part in the title of the song. Also, please post songs and/or song names about anything we may wear on our bodies. Please try to include the artist's name if you know who did it, thanks. There's seemingly a vast array of songs which qualify to be posted here. And if you repeat what someone has already posted.....so what 🙂 Have fun coming up with songs for this topic.
Hiya! ☺ Got any songs with 'In' or 'Out' (in title or lyric) to share? I have one to start. Here goes... Porcelain Raft - Drifting In and Out
Hiya! Please share your songs with 'Off' or 'On' in title. 'Off' or 'On' in lyrics, is just fine, too! I will begin with: 'The Knife - From Off to On' Thanks! Can't wait to see what unfolds.
Deleted due to apparently prompting upsetting memories and potential spread of misinformation regarding the subject of the movie.
GraceWhile I was waiting for my wife to join me at the Hawaii Theater, I saw a matronly middle-aged woman slightly limping across from me. Before she would be out of sight, I, perhaps indiscreetly, blurted out that I would be happy to walk on my own with her infirmity. The woman, hardly offended, stopped next to me and began a long discourse on the history of her arthritic hip flare ups. Wow! I have just been diagnosed with the same problem. She continued listing and describing some of her other arthritic concerns, ones similar to mine—from shoulders to knees. I reciprocated. When we finished conversing, she plodded onward.Talk about serendipity! As I got seated in the handicapped area of the theatre, I saw the same woman whom I had earlier met, sitting right next to me. She must have been worse off than I had realized. I was wrong. It turned out that she was situated beside a woman in a wheelchair and a neck brace, a person whom she pleasantly and intimately chatted with before the co

ENGAGINGEvery day I am entranced (looking out from my lanai) to see configurations of white birds as they soar over the golf course and undulate toward the Koolau mountain range. Sometimes the birds en masse resemble a phalanx of warriors. At other moments, all I can see is a carefree solitary bird dipping and zipping along its convoluted route—via a predetermined blueprint or a spontaneous outburst in a madcap adventure. In any case, the spiraling white birds entertain me and, in other instances, afford me the rare opportunity to meditate (not my forte) on my good fortune. Today was no exception. But what was remarkably coincidental occurred later on in the evening. My wife and I have been binging on the TV series Blue Bloods. Every episode contains an overview of the NYC skyline. I have never seen any birds in these snippets. Tonight, however, an array of white birds was hovering in the TV footage. Wow! At first, I was amazed at the juxtaposition of the birds seen from my lanai and th
The Full Strawberry Moon, in June: 6/10-6/11 [2025] Look up to the sky, and adore the full 🍓 moon, tonight! Listen to the crickets chirp. See the milky way. Wish on a star. Harvest some strawberries. Take pictures. Get some fresh air. This month, the Strawberry Moon offers a spectacular celestial display, with its fully illuminated disk gracing the night sky on June 11. What makes this particular Strawberry Moon truly special is its remarkably low trajectory – it will be the lowest full moon in decades. All full moons possess distinct characteristics, and for us in the Northern Hemisphere, the June full moon is always known for riding low in the sky, a celestial mirror to the low-riding December sun. It's a consistent astronomical dance: when the sun climbs high in the summer sky [as it does this month, near the solstice], the moon dips low. However, 2025 introduces a unique element. We are currently close to a Major Lunar Standstill, an 18.6-year cycle that
Hiya! 'They' say humans have 6-27 distinct/interconnected emotions. Here, the tip of the human emotion iceberg, we'll just focus on 'Happy' and 'Sad.' Thanks for sharing your emotions! It means everything! (/。>‿‿<。(˶′◡‵˶)>
