Write a review of any new movie seen in theaters, streaming site, DVD, etc. I have a trio: 1 - News Of The World - 2020 With Tom Hanks set in old Texas after the Civil War, Hanks trying to return a young girl who was taken in by the Kiowa, and raised as one of them, to her last remaining European family. With adversities to overcome it becomes apparent, to persevere - we need to rely on each other. 👫 Seen on HBO Max during free trial. ---> News of the World (film) - Wikipedia My Rate - Thumbs Up 👍______________________________________ 2 - The Matrix Resurrections - 2021 This would be the 4th Matrix movie. If you loved the Matrix Trilogy this one is un-like the rest; it's just disappointing😞 Seen on HBO Max during free trial. ---> The Matrix Resurrections - Wikipedia My Rate - Thumbs Down 👎----------------------------------------------------------3 - Ghostbuster
Went to the concert last night. It was great, thank you AARP for sponsoring such a great event. It proves that age doesn't matter. All of the old rockers were energized, and we had fun. However, Glendale City needs to get their act together, getting to the concert was not fun! The city needs to have better signage, traffic enforcement at all intersections and traffic signal management. The parking lot (once we were at the venue, which was hours later) had so many people directing traffic and the lot had many, many spaces.......everyone was stuck on Glendale roads!. I will not go to another event at the State Farm Stadium again!
a physiological thriller of a impossible journey in life it held my interest and I found it was hard to put down I just wanted to read to the end to find out what happened! It is definitely worth sharing here the author is unknown for now but I feel given enough of time she will make it to the best selling authors list in the near future for sure!
The FolliesWhile traveling on TheBus the other day, I was seated across from a couple of giggly, sleek young ladies. Just as the bus stopped at a light, these cutesy twenty-somethings began to simultaneously push at the rear exit door. It didn’t budge. But that did not deter them. They struggled even harder, laughing all the time at their plight in trying to get off the bus. No one told them that the doors can’t be opened for people to get off at a red light. I was tempted to reveal the truth, but I was mesmerized at the young ladies’ unflappable persistence. The bus driver, finally aware of the uproarious situation, cautioned them that the doors can be opened only when the bus stops at its designated spots. The young ladies, apparently wanting nothing more to do with the recalcitrant rear door, moved to the front of the bus and good-naturedly exited at the next stop when the door opened automatically.I observed someone else that day being clueless—this time at a grocery store ch
What a Horror ShowThe other day in my condo’s parking lot, I was ready to wipe up some of the filth that had adhered to my Mazda (mostly grunge deposited by birds). At the same time, I was startled to hear a young man nearby grappling with his friends. They tried to restrain him from going after a woman whom he cursed with a garden-variety heap of expletives. I didn’t discover what just what the woman had done to him; but considering the verbal violence he threatened in a flurry of F-bombs, the woman (whether his current or former girlfriend, his boss or co-worker or even his mother or sister) was depicted as a harpy who delighted in having a monstrous hold on him. For at least five-minutes, he continued his tirade, never mentioning exactly what his grievance was. The young man was unhinged—his face was flushed, his voice was increasingly menacing, and he was obsessed with his pursuit of vengeance against a formidable abusive foe who has somehow wronged him.Sometimes, I’d like to be a
I wrote to some veteran organizations to see if they could buy some psychic shops dand have them turned into veteran run restaurants and trucking companies. The reason why I did that is because I saw several psychic operations close to schools and in areas where population is high and I feared for the children for if one of them walks into a shop thinking it's a snack shop and discovers it's a psychic shop and ends up being frightened. Psychic shops should be located way out in the country where they are away from churches and schools so that children would feel safe. After hearing the Miss Cleo saga on the news back in 2001, I soon realized that after I chose to steer clear of psychic shops, that I made the right choice. I rather spend my money on groceries.
It’s the Little Things That Count Soon after I situated myself on the downtown bus that would take me to a doctor’s appointment, I saw a middle-aged disabled woman enter the bus and pay a dollar for the ride. When the bus driver told her that the new fare was $1.25 for people showing their Medicare ID, the woman balked at retrieving hers from her voluminous purse. Instead, she slid a quarter into the tray and began to precariously push her walker down the aisle. The bus driver, however, was not deterred. He demanded that the overwrought woman come back to him and show him her Medicare ID. Otherwise, she would have to pay $3.00. The woman was not to be intimidated. She scrounged through her purse until she found a crumpled-up valid Medicare card. The bus driver, satisfied with her discovery, drove on. The woman eventually sat down next to me. Her hands were shaking while she vainly tried to zip up her purse. I felt sorry that she had so much trouble with t

I have had the most fun in my recent life by playing with a free program called "Stable Diffusion." It converts text to images or changes an image assisted by text. What it can do is amazing! I took a photo of a famous painting, The Street, by Balthus, and randomly changed it in progressively increasing amounts. Amazingly, the AI retained the artist's style without me even asking it to! This is the original (first), followed by increasingly different results: OriginalSlightly differentFairly differentDifferentMore differentMost different but retains artist's style
Two HeroesAt one point while I was on the bus headed to another one of my routine doctor’s visits, a brigade of wheelchairs, walkers, and wagons slid up the lowered ramp and vainly tried to maneuver along the narrow bus aisle. A muscular father who was seated in the front row soon began to assist the newcomers. At the same time, with painstaking assurances, he was able to calm down his baby and his stressed-out partner. With the flair of a maestro, he orchestrated viable seating arrangements so that everyone and their perambulating aids were comfortably and securely seated. But I bet that the Good Samaritan was not anticipating what happened next. A young man who must have been at least 300 pounds entered the bus. Despite the relatively uncluttered aisle, his torso was hemmed in between two oversized walkers filled with slightly leaking hefty bags. Confronted with this dilemma, the husband squeezed the bags with its detritus onto the empty ledge at the bus entrance. Now that the p

A Teachable MomentToday, the Hawaii Symphony Associates, a quasi-PR organization that my wife and I joined a few years ago, conducted its monthly Q and A.Mid-way in the meeting, I noticed a very large unfamiliar woman who was seated opposite me at a good distance.Suddenly, the big lady blasted out a decibel-bending cough that reverberated in my ears for a few moments. The noise was appalling, but what disturbed me the most was the possibility that my fellow volunteer might have been a spreader of the newest Covid-19 variant. The middle-aged lady soon put on her mask, perhaps intending to make amends for her unhealthy outburst. At the same time, I noticed that an elderly woman who sat to the left of the cougher was frantically trying to pry something out of her uncooperative purse. I was convinced that she was looking for her mask because while sitting next to me last week at a chamber concert, she had worn her mask throughout the performance.Whether I was right or wrong about her motive,
National Doctor’s day was established to recognize and honor the contributions of physicians to the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. The first observance of Doctor’s Day in the US was held on March 30, 1933 in Winder, GA. President George H. W. Bush signed a resolution in 1990 formally establishing Doctor’s Day as a national holiday to be celebrated on March 30. In honor of doctors everywhere I thought I’d use the day as the theme for my blog, songs with the word Doctor in their title. Such greats include Jackson Browne’s “Doctor My Eyes,” Van Halen’s “Somebody Get Me A Doctor,” The Radiators and Thompson Twins each with their “Doctor Doctor,” Doobie Brothers “The Doctor,” Steely Dan’s “Doctor Wu,” Men At Work’s “Dr. Hekyll & Mr. Jive.” Some harder rocking doctor songs include Ted Nugent’s “Just What The Doctor Ordered,” Black Sabbath’s “Rock ‘N’ Roll Doctor,” and Motley Crue’s “Dr. Feelgood.” And even though not in the title, figuring very prominently in t

Being serious is the opposite of goofy. [source: National Day Calendar.com & National Day Calendar (YouTube)] __________________________________________________________So, the choice is yours. Today, you can be... a slacker, an underachiever, a lounge-about, a lazy bum, one chill dude (or dudette), a loafer, a sofa spud, a (good-for-nothing) slouch, a dawdler, a slowpoke, beachcomber, lazybones, etc... On December 8, 1980 John Lennon was shot and killed outside his and Yoko’s NYC apartment. I remember where I was when I heard the news – in my morning Geometry class, freshman year of high school. How the word spread that quickly without electronic media I’m still not certain. We were all stunned, in a state of disbelief that a Beatle was dead. The song provides the theme for this week’s blog called “The Name Game” highlighting songs featuring peoples’ names in their titles. There are so many that the lists could go on forever, but included are some of my very favorites in the first Spotify playlist, and some honorable mentions in the second, no less great, and still very worthy of a listen. The lists could go on with hundreds more, but these are songs that I enjoy and felt worth sharing. A few of my favorite songs of all-time: Janice Joplin’s “Bobby McGee,” Elton John’s “Levon” and “Mona Lisas And Mad Hatters,” Dire Straits’ “Romeo & Juliet,” the Police’s “Roxanne,” and
In the Corridors of My MindFor the past year, I have a new challenging hobby: factoring out as many words (similar or not) as I can from a given word I have randomly chosen. For at least a week, I keep finding extra entries. Some of them I conjure up on my own; others I retrieve from dictionary websites.Yesterday, I was walking in my condo corridor in order to pamper my injured big toe. Within a minute, I thought of finding more items (at least four-letters long with no plurals ending in “s”) to the word redactions. My chart was so crowded with hundreds of notations that I doubted I could come up with any more material. But suddenly I triumphed. Two more words flashed in my mind: erotica and caries. I had already listed erotic; adding an “a” to the end of the word was a bonus. Just at that moment, I contemplated my next dental visit. Eureka! I have been cavity free for years: no more “caries” for me. The word caries, although ending in an “s,” is singular. There is no plural alternative
The Leprechaun: A Tiny, Mischievous, and Elusive Creature of Irish Folklore[source: History Cooperative]A leprechaun is a mythical creature in Irish folklore, typically depicted as a tiny, mischievous old man dressed in green with a red beard and a hat. According to legend, leprechauns are cobblers by trade and are known for their love of gold and their skill in making shoes. They are also said to be very secretive and elusive, often leading people on wild goose chases in search of their treasure. In Irish mythology, it is believed that if you catch a leprechaun, he must grant you three wishes in exchange for his release. However, leprechauns are notoriously difficult to catch, as they are quick and clever. What is a Leprechaun? Usually classed as some kind of a fairy, leprechauns are small supernatural creatures that are specific to Irish folklore. Depicted as little bearded men, they might play the role of mischievous sprites or helpful shoemakers, depending
It’s Great to Be Out and AboutMy damaged big toe has healed sufficiently so that yesterday I was able to amble about (with minor discomfort) from the Elks Club to my condo, a thirty-minute walk that always manages to entertain and edify me. No longer relegated to shuffling in the corridor, I resumed my outdoor jaunts, stepping stones for people watching, one of my hobbies after retiring 20 years ago.Yesterday afternoon, I was not disappointed. An emaciated, haggard middle-aged woman near the bus-stop bench where I was seated was affording hand signals to the passing traffic. Sometimes, her gestures were obscene as she contemptuously gave selected drivers and passengers the finger. Occasionally her gesticulations were inspirational, almost a benediction, as her cupped hands indicated a Namaste moment. The woman was a contradiction. Unaccountably and abruptly, she switched from being friendly to being fiendish, from offering a beatific hello punctuated with a one-way ticket to Hell. More
