Cheryl ​@CherylY713614 , I "refuse" to HIDE my 68 years of age. The way I look at it, once they either see you or get a hold of your birthdate = you busted. Stopped "dying" my few gray hairs over the years & NOW "proud" of my Salt & Pepper. Lol, MORE salt than pepper. 😅

On the serious side my friend, you have to FILL A NEED for where you live or online.

I HATE online so I "researched" my area here in Virginia to see what was NEEDED.

Medical everything here, with teaching hospitals, a MAJOR hospital & with it, various medical personnel.

(1) Have you tried "signing up" with Temporary Work Agencies in YOUR AREA? Not "online" - way TOO MANY SCAMS in my "humble" opinion.

(2) IF you have a LOCAL Office Of Aging, contact them. AARP supports mine & they are VERY HELPFUL in finding Income Sources for Seniors.

*** Bottom line, you may have to RETURN to SCHOOL to gain the "skills" you may NEED to MARKET YOURSELF. In my case, my the state of VIRGINIA "paid" for a 6-week in-person course on "medical" office procedure. Some of us went on to do CODING. I have NO "interest" in Coding but BOTH hospitals & PRIVATE medical setups use coders. I "prefer" to Consult. I find solutions for PROBLEMS they are experiencing (personnel issues,supply issues,patient issues & so on). I work on an "as needed" basis to keep my stress level LOW. 😉 No more "punching" their time clock. 🙃 I use to work FULL TIME for the hospital that OWNS THIS AREA.

*** Have you tried CONTACTING other Veterans & their spouses to get "ideas" of Income Sources? Where I am, we have a HUGE VETERANS HOSPITAL & lots of military (active & retired). Alot of ORGANIZATIONS that "help" & who knows, a military person may have a JOB FOR YOU!!! Yes, here they are setting up businesses & banding TOGETHER to "help" each other. Time to get a "network" setup for your HUSBAND my friend.

Have had a lot of interviews but no takers. What the heck? I have heard of agism and it is a real thing. I dyed my hair to cover the premature gray that I think was being an issue. I need to work as my husband is disabled veteran and I have at least 15 years to go. SIGH…..so depressed and frustrated. Even can’t get a retail job! What the heck!

I am really unclear as to the description of your situation, @ld68387635 .

Are you being paid only approximately $33K a year to be a Project Manager in IT?

Is it part time?

Were you at the same bank for 30 years prior to your health issue?

Did you have to take time away from the job for medical treatment?

Were you eligible for coverage under the Family and Medical Leave Act?

You weren't really clear about the entire situation.

Did they ever give you reason for not hiring you? Do you know who got the jobs and how much experience they had?

You need to know the answer to these questions if you are thinking about taking legal action.  

Re entering job market at horrible time.  Lots of factors in play right now.  College grads and those re entering having hard time.  Layoffs everywhere, economic probs.  I assume you’ve tried networking with past associates?  I wish you the best. Hard time now for job seekers
