Saving on rent

Hello I live in Vallejo California and I spend half of my net income on my rent. I have a plied for numerous low income senior housing places and also for section 8, but I’m still waiting to get harder and harder. Does anyone have suggestions of organizations that will help with rent thank you LYNDA
