I use my points for instant win or sweepstakes. I have won a few times and tell people about it. Of all the people I've met that are members of AARP i have only met one other person that does the rewards points. She has won also.

I am now a fan of Lands End. Their on-line shopping site allowed me to use 2 AARP $5 gift certificates and 1 AARP $10 gift certificate for my purchase. (There are other companies that only allow use of 2 certificates, which can be disappointing.) Yay, "https://www.landsend.com/" !
