Fitbit devices will be disconnected on October 30 while transferring Fitbit accounts to Google accounts
I received an email that stated in part, “As part of Google's transition from Fitbit accounts to Google accounts, AARP Rewards will disconnect Fitbit devices on October 30 while we add support for Google Health. During this period, you will not be able to earn points through Fitbit. We currently expect Google Health support to be available in AARP Rewards in mid-November.”
I checked with AARP support and support staff just reiterated the email word for word...
Several months ago, I received notice from Fitbit that I needed to switch to Google Health and I did. The Google Health app has not had problems connecting to the AARP site and I have been earning points for walking 5K, 10K (most of the time), 30 miles, etc.
Has anyone else switched to Google Health from Fitbit app and have been able to earn points?
If so, I wonder why our device has to be disconnected and prohibited from earning points with a Fitbit for several weeks?
Thanks
