in addition, we will extend all points scheduled to expire on October 1st to November 1st, giving you an extra month to redeem.

Incredibly after being down for almost a whole month, the October extra credit for Social security lesson is not unlocking the gift cards! Wow!

I understand it can be frustrating when we experience a technical issue with AARP Rewards, @leonp574353. The issue with the Extra Credit activity from October 1st has been resolved. If you continue to experience trouble, please reach out to us via private message, so we can work on this with you. Thanks for being a valued AARP Rewards user! - Christy C.

This is a normal occurrence, and there are always glitches with the Extra Credit activities at the start of each month.  Hope it gets fixed so that you can redeem your reward.

Can You, AARP, please simply be honest with us for once.  I can now earn points, however I am still not able to spend them on Sweeps and Instant Wins, effectively making them useless.  We are now entering week four of this site not fully working... UNLESS... you have eliminated Sweepstakes and Instant Wins.  If so, please simply tell us that.  You are the largest non-profit in the world.  You are able to pay senior executives millions.  Why is it you continue to have the worst website out their and/or the worst communications to your members?

Let's see, program down for 3 weeks, I get back in and now I'm getting "Unable to process your redemption request" wonderful I got blocked again for your failure. Thanks AARP!

Normally we would be able to earn our maximum points for the day and then get the points for the code on top of that.  This time, the code points are going against our daily maximum.  So all I really gained was 200 points, not 500.  I assume this is the way it will be from now on.

In addition to the 500 bonus points,  it would be nice if $10 gift cards for point redemption could be offered to make up for the missing Instant Win games and Sweepstakes.

MAKEGOOD wasn't recognized I guess because I had already earned points by playing videos.

@AARPTeri , Denese @WebWiseWoman [retired IT person] SOLVED "error message" for the "free" 500 points AARP gave to members. Since they are NOT BONUS but part of our MAXIMUM DAILY POINTS, if you were already "maxed" out YESTERDAY (Wednesday 9/17/25) when they became "available" = member has to wait for DATE TO ROLL OVER to 9/18/25. AARP really needs to "hire" her as a Consulting IT Person. Thank you Denese!!! Nicole!

Ha, ha, Nicole... several of us retired "nerds" actually volunteered (= for no pay) to consult/beta test/QA for the entire AARP site portfolio many moons ago but response was 🦗🦗🦗🦗🦗...

Thanks for always being there for everyone; now go clear out all those "no-nos" your daughter shouldn't find when she visits next week 😉

AARP you need to step up to the plate.  Your system malfunction resulted in 17 days that we were unable to fully earn and use our points which is why many of us choose to visit the site.  This is over 100,00 lost points.  100,000.  Thanks for the 500 points but don't you think you owe us more?  Not to mention for 17 days we could not redeem anything even if we played your cat and mouse game of trying to find enough point earning activities.  So we did not get a chance to earn our points and we did not get a chance to redeem them.  And now the instant wins and sweepstakes are not available either.  I guess there is not remedy from AARP for any of these problems.

When do we get some decent redemptions for points instead of the stupid endless e-cards? Does anyone ever bother with those?

I guess they are still working on bringing the Instant Wins and Sweepstakes back, which fuels my initial speculation that this problem was the result of a hack in order to get all the gift cards and rig the sweepstakes

I like that the site is back up, but I did all the Extra Credit back on Sept. 1 & was not able to get any gift cards because of the snafu. All of the gift cards I tried to get then are gone - the current list of gift cards has none of the better choices. Please add a bunch of decent gift cards to Rewards.

Thanks, Andy

You would have thought with 3 weeks they could have rounded up some nicer gift cards!

Maybe in the meantime all the FruitBouquet  and Baja Fresh gift  cards will sell out, they just keep piling up!

500 points? That's a joke right? 3 weeks without a program and we get 500?

I'm genuinely thankful that AARP offers us points, they’re not obligated to do so. The program terms clearly address service interruptions, and many other loyalty programs wouldn’t offer any kind of adjustment in similar situations. I appreciate the effort AARP makes to recognize its members.

I would not call two weeks without access a service interruption.
