   โ€ฆ.in New Jersey we are not allowed to pump our own gas - I kid you not!   We are the only state that still has this law.  But then again, itโ€™s Jersey, so fuhgeddaboudit!

In my area, Publix employees still do this if requested although Publix ask people not to tip them - but who cares, especially if they are doing me a big service.

Now if they could just come home with me and take them out of the car and put them away.  Guess we will have to wait for Russia to perfect their โ€œrobotโ€ for that to happen - might be in for a long wait.

FROM NBC News - Russia's first AI humanoid robot falls on stage

Are you ready for your Neo Beta?  Rather pricey.

After graduating went to work full time at a PW. Worked 60 hour a week for $60, thought I was rich. Spent 60 years in retail, most of it in grocery chains. If you want to work and have the holidays runed then do as I did.

@papawofboo

I think may of us cut our working teeth at grocery stores - me and my late both did - funny thing, he was a whistler so if he was whistling a fast tune, he worked fast but if it was a more melancholy turn, the bagging sent along at a much slower pace.   ๐Ÿค“

But get that job now cause it will probably only last a few more years before humanoid robots begin to do this job as well as many others - are your worried?  I am -

This reminds me of the NJ Turnpike.  When we were kids, we would beg Dad to let us throw the coin in the basket, but I think he finally called a halt to that because of having to get out of the car so many times to pick up the missed throws. ๐Ÿ˜„

Yeah, I used to love throwing coins into the baskets at tolls!  Iโ€™m sure there was a lot of change on the road at the end of the day!

Hand crank drill I think.  Bits go in, held in place by tightening the head on right that has metal grips inside to hold the bits.  Then the crank is turned, moving the head with bit. Producing hole. (I think, since I used to play with one as a kid)

Back in the day you could get your paper in the morning or afternoon. Don't know if an evening paper still exists. The morning paper and the big (no longer) Sunday have struck something awful. It has been years since I bought a paper. What about you??

    Lee,

       You just gave me my morning laugh!  Unless you watched it being used as I did, I truly don't know how anyone could figure what it is just by looking at it.

        It was used to lift the jars out of the hot water during the canning process.  Hence, sadly I donโ€™t need one.  I vowed to at least attempt to โ€œput up some preservesโ€ once I retired, but have not done so.

This was the first that came to mind. Next in line was their "I can't believe I ate the whole thing."

And I can still see that little older lady saying, "Where is the meat."
