Many a summer retreat was had. Loved A&W root beer and a PAPA burger with fries.

…..and into the early 60s too!  Geez, I remember those drills too!  (And the boys wearing ties and the teachers checking that our skirts were not too far above our knees! 🙃)

   I have about four dozen pairs of these.  During my college years, you could buy these for a song in Thrift Shops.  Vintage jewelry and clothing was simply fun to wear when clubbing in NYC!  (But goodness, these were none too gentle on the earlobes! 😗)
