AARP should support the $50,000/100,000 cap on Social Security Benefit payments. One of the arguments on SSA benefits is, "Everyone should get all of their money back from SSA tax payments". I did an analysis of SSA tax payments versus SSA benefits received for my spouse and I. Starting in 2016, we have received all of our SSA tax payments by the end of 2023. We continue to reveive $65,000 per year in SSA benefits. If social security is to remain solvent and benefit future Americans, the annual cap is needed.

They did touch on that at the hearing - I posted this so that people can become knowledgeable - based on the facts and reality - not misinformation.

I don’t see how AARP can actually advocate for any specific thing - moreso they can advocate for the system to be fixed so it can remain solvent.

HOW it is fixed is gonna be left up to the lawmakers and the numbers folks (actuaries).  There are a lot of proposals on the table - it will not be just one that fixes the whole thing.

I would imagine that since you live in Chevy Chase, many of your neighbors are government lawyers and accountants.  I hope you don't tell them what you really think of them.  Personally, I'd love to be able to live there.

Living surrounded by a clique of rich snobs is not pleasant.

I don't watch youtube videos but I glanced at the transcript and it doesn't seem like it has anything to do with what I wish for.  I've met a few people in Chevy Chase and I have no complaints about any of them, and I think the area is very pleasant and livable.  But unaffordable for me, unfortunately.

Wow, you really don't get the point. Home owners in the Chevy Chase neighborhood of Washington DC live in a bubble of privilege and wealth,

Yeah, I guess I don't get your point.  I'd feel lucky if I got to live there
