Vacuum tube as they are under vacuum.   Remember going to the tube tester at the corner appliance repair shop with dad, later it was Olson's, Lafayette  & Radio Shack.

Being a Ham (or former Ham), Tubes are still occasionally desired.

Edit, the FCC arm of the fedzilla has made renewing licensing a total debacle if you aren't using online payment methods now.

I had several cabinets of this "cool" I couldn't give away once upon a time, now this stuff goes for a premium @ used record shops.

I'm still in denial. As soon as payphones went away, all romance was gone. 🥀

Kind of related to the washer above, Grandma used a mangle iron, similar to this photo, to iron sheets and pillowcases.

I can see why they called this a mangle as it certainly could do just that...

You could still get this as a Factory option in Vehicles (GM at least) up to as late as 1984.

I had a copy of Brian Auger's Oblivion Express... "Closer to it!" I had saved for nostalgic sake, not sure what happened to it though.  This tape loop concept was a great idea, though didn't wear well.

I haven't used them, but I think you might use a pair to move a block of ice into the ice box you posted above.

I'm not 100% certain about the hooks, but my wife's Grandfather was the ice man who delivered ice to the homes. He is long gone, but everyone in the family has an ice pick lying around. He must have given them away.
