Issues connecting aarp with google fit

When I try to connect it says an error message that Google blocked it from accessing. But I try to find it in apps to connect and it's not on the list.

I worked with an AARP rep for 2+ hrs on Monday trying to get it fixed.  Could not be fixed.  She is opening a case, just waiting for resolution now.  Something is definitely broken.

Hi, Janelle,

This has been escalated twice, but still not resolved.  In my last chat (8/15/24), I was told I would hear something in 3-5 business days, but still have not heard anything.  I wish this would get fixed.  Thanks.

@KenleeE282473 Be sure to check the permissions in your Google Fit app and make sure AARP Now has access to steps, cycling, and swimming data. You can also visit the Google Fit support pages for more help.  - Janelle M.

That is what I keep getting, and you can't go into Google fit to give permission when they aren't even there

@RustyS24299  I'm so sorry you're having trouble! I recommend uninstalling the tracker, and re-installing it: https://aarp.info/3emKZ8q
Check permissions in your Google Fit app and make sure AARP Now has access to steps, cycling, and swimming data. Check your Google Fit app on your compatible device is applicable and confirm that health data from your phone or device are populating. If you're still having trouble, go to Google Fit support pages for more help: https://support.google.com/fit#topic  Let me know how I can help!  Jodee R.

I know we can use the fitbit app and that syncs with Google fit, but that's an annoying fix.

Unfortunately, that option of removing tracker is no longer available.

That is the same issue I have.  I contacted AARP again last week and they are escalating the issue for resolution.  Apparently, this is happening with both Android and Apple devices.

@KenleeE282473 Thanks for getting back to me. Have you had an opportunity to uninstall and re-install the AARP app? I suggest trying that to see if it helps with Google blocking it.  - Janelle M.

Yes, I have uninstalled and re-installed both AARP Now and Google Fit.  All permissions are allowed in both apps.  Still not able to sync and still get msg that Google is blocking AARP attempt to access.
