Itโ€™s now after Halloween it seems when things get put out in the stores for the holiday season.  I dont mind saying Happy Holidays as it reflects our wonderful melting pot of holidays around the time.

I bought one after I go married. And yes,the grandkids loved to roll it up and down. Some things never change.

Loved those, but we never had one. Would play with them whenever we could go to a store. (Then get shushed away by an employee.)

I have my motherโ€™s old one still, and tend to prefer it over the newer ones I was given over the years.  That, and a potato masher that were hers are some of my most used items from her .  I decided not to take the old Pressure cooker that was her motherโ€™s though!

Edit to add โ€” As a kid we used to put this on our head and pretend we were space creatures!

I didn't want to post this response because it's personally abhorrent to me, as my 2 youngest daughters, their step-sis, and a cousin were at 1-Oct Route 91, with step-sis wounded... but for those who have re-visited, it's an AR-15 firing pin.

Sorry for the memory this brought @WebWiseWoman

Recognized Social Butterfly

Thank you for the kind thought...

Here's something I didn't know until 1-Oct happened: it's never a memory; it becomes part of life day after day after day... it changes every interaction, every "normal" activity, every thought...

I hope some will recognize we may never know what others have experienced, so perhaps we can be more cognizant with our thoughts and deeds, more careful of others feelings and experiences, whether we know about them or not.

@WebWiseWoman , So sorry to hear that. Canโ€™t stand the use of those myself.  Wouldโ€™ve never guessed it was that.

Yes. Familiar with similar scenario as far as day in/day out  person never the same after.  Different method.   other car texting while driving. Violent death. Forever changed. Itโ€™s like  Dominoes

Recognized Social Butterfly

Yes, dominoes, perfect descriptor...

My jaw just dropped!  I just googled it - am speechless.

Thank you for letting us all know. ๐Ÿ™

As with everyone,  I am confused.

It doesn't look like it has the ability to push or extend as in a probe.

The only thing I could think of was old nail or pin type thingies that could be used to temporarily hold something together while you put together the rest of it, then could easily be pulled out with a claw hammer (we usually used long smaller nails). But, in a way it seemed a bit too fragile.

Hope he gives in and tells us.

I came back to this pic to see if the answer had been revealed as well.  @DaveMcK   What is this?

Looks like you stumped us. What is it?

I have no clue, but it reminds me of those things you stick in a turkey and when the turkey is done the knob pops .  The other guess was a TB test syringe, but that had multiple points if i remember

Iโ€™ll admit that I am totally stumped, but I am going to keep trying to figure this one out!

As I was thinking about making paper chains and snowflakes, I fondly remembered this old magazine.  It was always chock full of creative ways to use construction paper, pipe cleaners, Dixie cups, toilet paper rolls and scraps into countless items.   It kept me busy for hours, and I remember eagerly awaiting its delivery.  โ€ฆ.those certainly were simpler daysโ€ฆ.

Does anyone else remember when these were atop Christmas trees?

We had one when I was very young, but it was replaced by an angel.
