๐ Marcy @MarcyW882921 , glad you stopped by!!! ๐
Went for xrays today. Go back on 20th to get a Walking Boot.
I am on my 3rd cast. First two I let the "youngsters" pick colors.
1st was green with sprinkles
2nd red with sprinkles.
Lol, everyone luved them at Kroger when I was riding around in their SCOOTER. Said they were festive. Told them the youngsters picked them.
Today, I picked paws = for my boy.
Learning to drive the SCOOTER was interesting & funny. Grateful folks understood I had NO idea what I was doing.
NOW I am a pro. ๐
Luv,
Nicole ๐๐ค

Nicole,
I love the paws!โค๏ธ I'm sorry that you had to get another cast and then have a boot to look forward to. Learning to ride the scooter at the supermarket was good exercise for your brain. It's great that you have become proficient at riding, and maybe you will give tutorials. LOL

๐ Dear Marcy @MarcyW882921 , I just received Post Office "email" notification that there is a CHRISTMAS CARD coming to my mailbox from you!!!
Unfortunately it will be AFTER Christmas before I can get it.
Girlfriend, I fell for the 1st time in my 67 years on Black Ice 12/6/25 & suppose to be on bed rest (cast, ankle fractured in 2 places).
My neighbors here in Virginia have been AWESOME & John Mark checks my mail & takes my trash out on Saturdays.
Cast should be off January 2nd. ๐
Anyway, fellow Florida Girl (lol, NOT old lady), I do still plan on moving back to Florida. So see you soon!!!
Luv,
Nicole ๐ค๐ค๐ค (Grief Forum)

Oh Nicole, I am so sorry to hear about your fall! I'm so glad you have some neighbors who can provide some needed support to you. I'm sending wishes for speedy healing so you can get that cast off on time.
You know I have to say it...we don't have ice here in FL! I do hope one day we will meet in person.

๐ BE GOOD to yourself!!!
Sometimes losing a loved one means LESS to pay the bills. โน
But finding ways to FILL UP will keep us BALANCED (emotionally, spiritually, mentally).
Suggestion: So many FREE WAYS to do this. Just find WHAT fills YOU up. Me, bingeing on Agatha Christie Audiobooks (free on YouTube). Also helps me to catch a few zzz's on those nights I CANNOT SLEEP. My sleepaid. โ๐โ
Question: What self care are you doing? ๐ค

And all kinds of other things too if we are mindful and look for them. I have been bombarded recently with angel numbers and find them very comforting.
Grief is a long difficult journey and finding any kind of bright spots along the way certainly helps. ๐๐ทโญ๏ธ๐

Weekends can be tough. What do you have planned that may be a positive distraction? For me it's making a spiritual connection, volunteering, and participating in a bowling fundraiser. Whatever your plans, I hope they provide some grief relief and maybe even bring some joy to your heart.

I'm so glad Nicole @SummerOnTheWay1 that Mr. Cat has been helpful in relieving some of your grief. There is research to show many human conditions benefit from people interactioning with animals.

I think sharing thoughts on caring for oneself, making doctor appointments (and the difficulty in doing so), discussing relocating, dealing with finances and life's decisions are all important issues to discuss. These are all a part of being alone and having to make big decisions for ourselves (perhaps for the very first time). Once one "accepts" the reality of being alone, it is difficult to have to make these decisions for ourselves ALONE. Hearing how others do it and have done it has been extremely helpful to me. Accepting the loss is NOT the end of this journey. Listening to tapes and reading books does not always offer the personal touch needed at times. Having someone make us smile and knowing there are people out there that truly do care about you is a gift.
