Problem signing into SS using Login.gov
I'm having problems with Login.gov account when I try to log in to Social Security. I get the run around when I start the ID myself and I am told my cell phone number does not exist. My old landline number I no longer have but haven't found a way to delete it. There are ways to add phone numbers but apparently no way to delete my old number. Has anyone had problems trying to ID yourself so you can get to your Social Security account?

Hi, I had a prob last year getting thru the online sign-up, I got thru all the screens until the very end - but the last page gave me a no-can-do msg. So, I called the SocSec helpline, and they had me go thru the whole thing again & got the same msg at the end. So they then told me to call the local SS office for an in-person appt and to take my ID. Went to the appt & they successfully got my login.gov acct going!
So try calling them first.

I tried to sign up my wife on login.gov (for Medicare) but the app could not verify her (mobil) phone via public records. I called our local SS office; the lady I finally got through to told me to fill out form for Parts A and B (https://www.cms.gov/files/document/cms-18f5.pdf) (https://www.cms.gov/Medicare/CMS-Forms/CMS-Forms/Downloads/CMS40B-E.pdf) and then put in drop box at my local office here in Tacoma, WA. Said it could take 30-90 days to get the account created. I also included photocopies of her ID's, my ID's (as she is eligible from my work history) and a cover letter explaining the situation. Hopefully this will work.

I am having aI problem getting in. It takes a picture of my drivers license front and back then it goes no where. I had a login but they said I no longer had one for my email that has been on file for 5 years. I thought this was the year for making America great again. Evidently seniors are not included.

I have the same issue. I called the SSA office and they told me there is a bug in the LOGIN.GOV system. The SSA office personal told me to contact LOGIN.GOV directly to fix my phone number issue. They said donโt let them give you the run around by telling you to call SSA to fix it. They have no control of their software and need to push back for them to fix it.
