GREAT COVERS OF YOUR FAVORITE SONGS
For many an original song that they love cannot and will not ever be duplicated by a cover, but there are many songs that have been done equally (debatebly) well by others..
So do you have favorites?
What are your favorite covers of favorite songs?

Donโt Be Cruel - Cheap Trick (Elvis cover)
I think they did this for an Elvis tribute show. But whatever, itโs a good cover.

Wayne Cochran & the Sheer Delights * "Last Kiss" 1962. Written by Cochran
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yKDMRZv4SYc&ab_channel=EnriqueCh%C3%A1vez
J. Frank Wilson & Pearl Jam had the hits with this tune and both covers did chart. But the original had the raw feel of a garage sound and didn't chart, so go figure.

"Be My Baby" - original by The Ronettes https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jSPpbOGnFgk
Lots of covers for this song. I was surprised that this band covered the song and they did a great job.

"I Fought the Law" * Sonny Curtis, joined the Crickets after Buddy Holly's death, playing guitar and penning this tune in 1959. Along with J. Mauldin and J. Allison and bass & drums. With Earl Sinks on vocals.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4hw846vx_uk&ab_channel=Bonneville66
Although the cover by the Bobby Fuller 4 is more widely known and popular, amongst many covers by well known bands, the original still gives a kick.

Nothing Else Matters - Agal the Bard (Bardcore), Metallica cover
The Final Countdown - Agal the Bard (Bardcore), Europe cover
Temple Of The King - Agal the Bard (Bardcore), Rainbow cover, & the hat! ๐ธ
https://youtu.be/8rEWZ1yF7Ig
So I think โbardcoreโ is his music style, and Agal the Bard is his artist name.

@dl73698250 Heโs a one man band, multi-instrumentalist, playing authentic medieval instruments. โBardcoreโ is apparently a genre of music that interprets modern pop, rock, or metal into medieval styled music. Neoclassical, gothic and fantasy metal tend to work really well for obvious reasons.

@dl73698250 It was Peter Noone, I don't know how much of the group are left or if any of the hermits were on the record. Peter Noone is still touring (currently has a lineup for 2022-2023) as Herman's Hermits, like other bands that continue with the name no matter if it is the complete original line-up or not. He heard about the concept project (released in 2002) and wanted to do it as did the others on the album that were recruited.

@dl73698250 , in our cases it was a made up word of "Who would have thought that", regarding that song was unusual to hear from Peter Noone/Herman's Hermits. We can spell it any way we wish. I supposed we could have spelled it that way or any other close way.
We knew what we meant. ๐
Idioms can become fairly standard, such as: "Who'd a thunk it".
But as far as I am concerned, if you get your point across, who cares about proper. I may not use the best words or even proper punctuation.
Whooda Thunk is a alternative/indie musician (that I have not listened to).
