Unable to process your redemption request

It's been almost 2 months and the both agents I have spoken to have not helped. All I keep getting is that they will escalate my issue .

why am I unable to process or redeem my points?!

is it going to take another 2 months for someone to respond to me?

"Welcome to the club; I’ve sent two DMs, made the three phone calls, —all for nothing. They told me it’s been 'escalated,' but I suspect that’s just code for 'filed in the trash. I’m choosing to use positive thinking: AARP can't possibly be this incompetent by mistake. This is clearly a test of the system. I haven’t figured out what the prize is for passing the test yet, but I’m sure AARP has a 'Big Plan' that we’re just too stupid to understand.  The only thing I have left is my sarcasm; please don't take that away, too.

"I am also in this Club" - AARP has been "escalating" for me since March 4th.  Been an AARP Member since 2006.  Time to cancel, but I'm sure they wouldn't care.

I’m disappointed again. AARP Customer Care sent an email saying they received my inquiry about redeeming rewards. It even had a name and a direct number to call if I'm not satisfied. Now, what am I supposed to complain about? My blood pressure, the AG1-spiked blood sugar, or just the humidity?

@LutherF  Ive been watching the number of complaints grow on this.  Hope the continued heat on it keeps the momentum up and gets this to see sunshine. Proactive seniors is what AARP encourages us all to be, right?  I’m hoping all of you in the same boat, and this goes for the ones in the background afraid to speak out, get the resolve you all deserve soon. 👍

Hi Luther @LutherF , I know you have been posting about this "issue" and so sorry you are dealing with it.

I went through the SAME thing when I joined the AARP Rewards Program.

How long has it been since you have NOT been able to redeem?

While I WAITED on them to "fix" my Rewards Account, I continued to EARN points. Once I was able to redeem, I used the points that were getting ready to EXPIRE on entering the MAX daily entries (10) for Sweepstakes that interested me. Usually I DONOT enter these. Lol, WAY TOO MANY points and too busy enjoying my Retirement offline. 😉

Also, keep trying to REDEEM when you think of it.

Why?

Mine was FIXED before I received the AARP email telling me that I could now redeem.

Lastly, posting on this AARP Community Board does nothing to fix what IT needs to fix = they DONOT read our posts here.

I waited 10 BIZ days before I would call AGAIN.

Good Luck!!!

HAPPY Thursday 🙃

SumerOntheWay1,  I answered your question.  I wrote, "The first of February was my first Direct Message."   Then, in the next post, I posted the link.

I'm still in the same boat and I could no reply to the other "unable to process your request" page since it gives me a gray reply tab so I have to start a new topic or conversation and then this one came up so even though it may not be answering a specific post, it is still the same topic.  I was fed up with them being so wishy washy for 6 weeks on this so I told them to cancel my membership and send me my fees which they said they are doing.  Of course that is not instant either, they said it takes 8-12 weeks so in the one hand they are strill stringing me along, I earn the points daily but still can't use them but on the other hand they do not have my most recent funds o pay for their shady operation.  They don't seem to care either way.

they told me the same story, after the first 10 days they put in a new request and cancelled the first one, after that round of 10 days they said it was being investigated but could not offer a time frame.  I don't know why they indicate it would take xxx time they rescind it and basically say it could be resolved or not.  When I told them you owe me for the time I cannot use your program to the fullest they said there were other aspects of it I could use.  I reminded them that the rewards program is a benefit and since I am not getting this benefit why do they advertise it then not honor it?

Try asking if they can create a “new” account for you and transfer your points over to the newly created one, @WW393731

I am having this exact same issue and it has been going on for the last 2 months for me as well.  I have points to redeem but as soon as I try to redeem points for a gift card I want, I get the message "Unable to process points".

Frustrating!  What would be very helpful is a schedule of when certain gift cards will be offered for points redemption.

Can someone at AARP please help with this?

Hi @DN36535 , have you gone through the process of contacting AARP and they’ve started the 10 wait they tell you to wait?  Some people have been waiting months into their 10 day response to wait.  Have you started the initial contact with the customer service reps?

Hi @VanessaH806096  — Contact your states’ Attorney General, or the FTC (Federal Trade Commission) for sweepstakes fraud, etc…, as this could put a fire under these people here to get this fixed ASAP.  This stuff shouldn’t be going on for this long and stringing folks on like this is bait and switch in my opinion.
