Unable to process redemption request

I just joined AARP last week. Since I'm mostly bedridden, I spent a lot of time on earning rewards. After the first two days, I can't redeem any rewards..I've tried it through thr app, different browsers, etc. , but I keep getting the "unable to process your redemption request "This is frustrating as I was hoping to get the daily max chewy and Amazon sweepstakes entries as. I'm poor. I'll try calling customer service on Monday. Just posting in case any AARP. moderator can fix this problem. Unfortunately, I see that this is a common problem and sometimes doesn't get fixed according to others on this board. This is frustrating.

Keep detailed notes and give AARP the time stated.  Likely it will take longer than the 10 business days.  Let them know you signed up to include the full rewards program, not just to earn points but also to use points.  If you do not get resolution within a reasonable time frame, contact the BBB and file a complaint.  AARP  may not want to answer you but they will answer the bbb complaint which should give you a fighting edge.  Good luck.  Also if you do not get resolution after a reasonable time, let AARP know you will cancel your subscription.  Even if you do this you can still be an AARP member with less perks but able to earn 5000 points a day instead of 7500.  You can still do many things with your points even if you are a free member.

@BtW751689 , how true = yes, you can still "participate" in the AARP Rewards Program without an AARP Membership. Good feedback!!!

*** I will add, it is best to "play nice" even IF "issue" continues past the 10 business days. Yes, it is FRUSTRATING!!! But you will get MORE HELP by remaining CALM when dealing with AARP. ๐Ÿ˜‰ Nicole!

(1) Michael @MichaelH852670 , GLAD they got your AARP Rewards Account "fixed". They did mine too.

(2) Emese @EmeseD226170 , I have "copied & pasted" the post Michael is "referring" to as it maybe difficult to find in that VERY LONG thread. Note, you have to REPORT your "issue" 1st by calling the REWARDS Customer Service (it is different from the REGULAR Customer Service). Then AARP Darryl will look into your "issue" IF it goes past the 10 business days they will tell you about. Lol, some NEW members DONOT have the PM (private message) tool. Another "issue". Hopefully you have it & can send AARP Darryl one as needed. Or post to him using the LINK Michael provided you. I luv the "Members helping Members" on this AARP Community Board. That was so kind of him. ๐Ÿ‘ Fyi - ALL of AARP (including moderators) work weekdays 8am ET to 8pm ET only. Good luck, Nicole!

Hi @MichaelH852670.

Yes, youโ€™ll need to contact support so a case can be created to help resolve this issue. If you havenโ€™t already reached out to AARP Support, you can do so here: AARP Help. If you have done so, send me a private message so I can check the case status -AARP Darryl

You are welcome Emese @EmeseD226170 !!! When I joined the AARP Rewards Program last year May 2025, like you - I could NOT "redeem".

Also, keep "trying" as mine was FIXED before I received the AARP email that it was fixed.

They are redoing this AARP Community Board on August 5th.

Hopefully, you will get the PM tool. ๐Ÿคž

Take care,

Nicole!

I had the same problem a while back and they were able to help me out.

DarrylL35959 was the AARP online person to help facilitate it for me and I was very lucky that they got me up and running again within a couple weeks.

This is the thread that explains my situation and how/who was able to help. Hope this helps you out too.
