Starbucks eGift Card 23,000 Points $5 Value Open to All Fun Fridays

Upon reviewing the transcript of my phone conversation with the AARP rep, she indicated that it is most likely that I would be refunded the 23,000 points for the Starbucks gift card redemption because there was a technical contract issue, and AARP would be unable to fulfill the redemption. It will take 2-3 days for the points to be refunded, however, she was not certain if the redemption will be reset. It appears many of us will be disappointed. This "Fun Fridays" turned out to be not so fun after all. I hope AARP will give us back the redemption.

I am on the phone with the AARP rep, and she indicated that they are aware of the issue. Because of a technical issue, not everyone who redeemed points for the Starbucks gift card will receive the gift card. It is dependent on when the gift card was redeemed. If you don't get the gift card, the 23,000 points will be refunded, HOWEVER, I asked if I will lose the redemption for the month. The rep was not sure if the redemption will be reset.

Thanks, @SereneSeagull for letting me know that we will lose the redemption if points are refunded. Doesn't seem fair since this is a technical issue on AARP's side of the fence. The "Fun Fridays" was not so fun after all.

@SereneSeagull I hope the redemption is reset.... the AARP rep seemed pretty certain that my points will be refunded and that I won't get the gift card.

I hope you will get the card, @JoeeBear . I was told that there was a tech issue and not everyone who redeemed the points will receive the gift card. It will be dependent on the "timing" when the gift card was redeemed. We will either get the gift card or the points refunded.

Iโve had to call before, and my experience was fast. Some have had a totally different experience, I understand. As long as customer service can see the transaction on your dashboard, and with this many people being affected, I think it should be fixed when they get all the calls.

Glad to hear you will be getting the Starbucks gift card. Unfortunately, I didn't get the confirming email, so I probably won't get the card. The AARP rep I talked to was pretty certain that my points will be refunded in 2-3 business days. Thanks for sharing your email.
