Is the site actually working now? I can't login to my account or watch any videos. Also, it defaults to Spanish? Anyone experiencing this??? So bizarre.

Going on 7 days now I have yet to receive a giftcard we purchased with absolutely no sight or guidance into when I will get it.

I had the same thing happen to me with the same reply you received below to private message customer service. I PMd the customer care as requested…..four times. Apparently he could not see the info requested (name, address, and email address). Maybe this will work for you. I sure hope so.

What I ended up doing was calling the Customer Service number I got through Google. The very nice man took care of it by elevating the non receipt of a gift card to tech support. I got the card within hours. Before you call, make sure the purchase shows up in your Transactions, purchases for your Rewards account. Then make sure your credit card was actually charged. They won’t do anything without this verification.

Best of luck! It just shouldn’t be this hard.

A permanent 'senior moment' we are not going to recover from.

We are experiencing technical difficulties and delivery times may be extended. We appreciate your understanding and patience as we resolve these technical difficulties.

It sure does. I’m thinking that I’ll be getting a great night’s sleep Friday night as there won’t be any need to try to grab the beginning of the month’s deals. Yeah!

@GeraldT778730  I completely understand your frustration. Our recent maintenance will not affect the occurrence of payment error messages. There are various reasons why you might be receiving this message. I'd like to do some troubleshooting, which is why I'm asking for a private message, so you can share your account information. I look forward to hearing from you!  Jodee R.

Quite a long weekend, as on this morning, 01/24/2025, still getting error message with valid credit card. I'm told, please be patient. A status update each day of delay would indicate a concern for the  strife being created.. .

Has the maintenance been completed? I just bought a couple of GCs and usually receive them within minutes. It’s been almost an hour and I have not received them, but my credit card has been charged. I don’t even see them as a recent transaction in my purchase history.

Did the Daily Deal and did not get the Domino's Gift card. Chatted with AARP online and they said they were having issues with gift cards, daily deal, etc.  Pretty much everything. Imagine that!!!

Where are the Instant Wins? Have these been eliminated or did the 'maintenance' forget about them? Thank you.

So, let us all consider this 3.5 day outage (because that is what it will be, +/-)... so how about Amazon or Walmart, CNN or MSNBC, Facebook or Twitter, news3lv or 8newsnow, being unavailable for that time span? Acceptable?

Not sure why AARP IT is not more responsible; worked for Caesars Entertainment IT for decades and this would NEVER be acceptable; remember the hack last year?

Either AARP needs to be updated to true corporate organization (as they have represented themselves as for decades) or it needs to admit they are a little group taking retirees money and hosting a somewhat usable site; not a national organization who actually can do anything.

If you can't run a successful site, you cannot represent we retirees in Washington.

@WebWiseWoman    Do you know if the Rewards site uses the same IT as the main AARP site?

Hi, Richard,

I do not know; I would assume, as with most major US-based corporations with closed systems, IT is one Department for all applications / support.

But, alas, don't know anything about AARP's corporate structure (have searched over many years multiple resources, including annual reports; no structure information found as of yet...).

3 days? They are probably going to do something totally unwanted, unnecessary, and unneeded like the Dashboard, and make a big mess of it. No improvement is expected.

After being a member for many years, I cannot think of one single instance where something has been done to benefit members. It is quite sad!

this upcoming planned maintenance will likely uncover more suspected cheating and fraudulent activity which has never been disclosed to members shat they did only to "follow the rules".  Whatever bots they have employed that needs this kind of maintenance month after month is not working.  The new CEO does not seem to want to communicate with members, no way to communicate with her so she is likely not aware of those of us affected by this unable to use our points or redeem issue.

@jserramcorder

Well it seems our worst fears of another useless maintenance shutdown has materialize. It’s not going to fix one single problem out of the numerous ones AARP rewards has

REMEMBER the last one, it created more problems

the new CEO that has just come on board does not have a clue what is happening to this program, neither did MS Jenkins the last CEO. I sense she got her belly full of the “” technical difficulties “ going on an decided to jump ship. The whole time she was in charge she never lifted a finger to help us seniors

SO SAD

Does this mean you are going to fix Codeword so it consistently awards points?

That's what I was going to ask!    I hope that's what they have in mind, not further downgrading of the program.

I can complete the game and it shows a check mark for my activity but not sure if the points are awarded.

Thanks for brining this to our attention, @KarenS177788. Currently, the Codeword game is working correctly. Be sure to complete the full game to earn points. You may also try the game through another internet browser or try clearing your cookies and cache. Visit https://aarp.info/2I3wo4C for instructions on how to clear your cookies and cache. If you didn't receive your points for the game we'd be happy to issue a point adjustment for you as a courtesy. Thanks for being part of the AARP Rewards program.
